ULTAnd he said, “No, but I myself have now come, as the commander of the army of Yahweh.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and bowed down. And he said to him, “What, is my lord speaking to his servant?”

USTThe man replied, “I am not a soldier in any human army. Rather, I am the commander of Yahweh’s army. I have come here to help you.” Then Joshua very respectfully got down on his knees and touched his face to the ground. Joshua said to him, “What do you want me to do? I will do it.”

OEB‘Neither,’ he answered, ‘I am here as the captain of the host of the Lord.’ Then Joshua fell on his face to the ground and worshipped, saying, ‘And what has my Lord to say to his servant?’

WEBBE & WMBBHe said, “No; but I have come now as commander of the LORD’s army.”
 ¶  Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and worshipped, and asked him, “What does my lord say to his servant?”

NETHe answered, “Truly I am the commander of the Lord’s army. Now I have arrived!” Joshua bowed down with his face to the ground and asked, “What does my master want to say to his servant?”

LSVAnd He says, “No, for I [am] Prince of YHWH’s host; now I have come”; and Joshua falls on his face to the earth, and pays respect, and says to Him, “What is my Lord speaking to His servant?”

FBVJoshua fell down with his face to the ground in awe. Then he said, “What orders does my lord have for his servant?”

T4TThe man replied, “I am not planning to fight with you or against you. Instead, I am the commander of Yahweh’s army in heaven, and I have come down from there to assure you that Yahweh will help you.” Then Joshua bowed down with his face on the ground to show his respect for/to worship► the man, and said to him, “Tell me what you want me to do.”

LEBAnd he said, “Neither. I have come now as the commander of Yahweh’s army.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and he bowed down[fn] and said to him, “What is my lord commanding his servant?”

BBEAnd he said, No; but I have come as captain of the armies of the Lord. Then Joshua, falling down with his face to the earth in worship, said, What has my lord to say to his servant?

UHBוַ⁠יֹּ֣אמֶר ׀ לֹ֗א כִּ֛י אֲנִ֥י שַׂר־צְבָֽא־יְהוָ֖ה עַתָּ֣ה בָ֑אתִי וַ⁠יִּפֹּל֩ יְהוֹשֻׁ֨עַ אֶל־פָּנָ֥י⁠ו אַ֨רְצָ⁠ה֙ וַ⁠יִּשְׁתָּ֔חוּ וַ⁠יֹּ֣אמֶר ל֔⁠וֹ מָ֥ה אֲדֹנִ֖⁠י מְדַבֵּ֥ר אֶל־עַבְדּֽ⁠וֹ׃

BrLXXὉ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῷ, ἐγὼ ἀρχιστράτηγος δυνάμεως Κυρίου, νυνὶ παραγέγονα. Καὶ Ἰησοῦς ἔπεσεν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν, καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ, δέσποτα, τί προστάσσεις τῷ σῷ οἰκέτῃ;

BrTrAnd he said to him, I am now come, the chief captain of the host of the Lord. And Joshua fell on his face upon the earth, and said to him, Lord, what commandest thou thy servant?
