OET 1PET chapter 4

4 Since the messiah suffered physically, you all also should cultivate the same intention, because anyone who suffers physically stops sinning 2 so that they can live their remaining physical lives obeying God’s will instead of worldly lusts 3 because enough time has been spent listening to worldly advice and having pursued immorality, lusts, drunkenness, carousing, drinking parties, and repulsive idolatry. 4 The unbelievers will be surprised that you’re all not joining them in that unrestrained, wild living and they’ll mock you, 5 but they will need to give an account for their actions to the one who is ready to judge both the living and the dead. 6 That’s why the good message was preached even to the dead, so that people might judge them by earthly standards

7 The end of everything is getting close, so make good decisions and be serious in prayer, 8 [ref]and more than anything, display genuine love to each other because love triumphs over many sins. 9 Show hospitality to each other without grumbling. 10 Whatever gift that each person has received, they should use it to serve the others as good managers of the various forms of grace that God has given us. 11 Anyone who shares wisdom that came from God or uses the strength that God has given them to serve others needs to be honouring God through Yeshua the messiah. He’s the one who deserves the honour and the power all through the ages.

4 Therefore chosen _one /messiah having _suffered in_the_flesh, also you _all arm the same intention, because the one having _suffered in_the_flesh has _ceased from _sin, 2 in _order that to _live the remaining time in the_flesh no _longer to _lusts of_the_people, but to_the_will of_god.
3 For/Because the having _passed _by time is sufficient to _have _produced the counsel of _the pagans, having _pursued in wantonness, lusts, drunkenness, carousing, drinking _parties, and unlawful idolatries.
4 With which they _are _being _surprised, not running _together of _you _all into the same of_ the _intemperance pouring _out, slandering, 5 who will _be _giving _back an_account to _the one ready to _judge the_living and the_dead.
6 For/Because to this end was _good _message _preached even to_the_dead, in _order _that they _may _be _judged on _one _hand according _to humans in_the_flesh, on _the _other _hand may _be _living according _to god in_the_spirit.
7 And the end of _all things has _neared.
Therefore be _sensible and be _sober for the_prayers, 8 before all things, having the earnest love among yourselves, because love is _covering a_multitude of _sins, 9 be hospitable to one _another apart _from grumbling, 10 each one as he _received a_gift, serving it to yourselves, as good managers of_the_various grace of_god.
11 If anyone is _speaking, as oracles of_god, if anyone is _serving, as of strength of _which the god is _supplying, in _order _that in all things the god may _be _being _glorified through Yaʸsous/(Yəhōshūˊa) chosen _one /messiah, to _whom is the glory and the power to the ages of _the ages.
Truly.

4:12 The suffering of believers

12 Dear friends, don’t be surprised as the fiery trials that you all will have to face as a test, as though it’s something unusual that’s happening to you, 13 but rather as you all share in the sufferings of the messiah, stay positive so that you will all be happy as you’re also glad to see his honour revealed. 14 You all will be blessed if you are derided in the name of the messiah because God’s spirit rests on you all—the spirit that honours him. 15 None of you should suffer persecution because you’re a murderer or a thief or a troublemaker or nosey-parker, 16 but if you suffer for being a follower of the messiah, then there’s no need to feel ashamed but instead be praising God in that name.

17 It’s time to begin judgement and to begin with God’s people, and if we’re judged first, what will the outcome be for those who refuse to believe in God’s good message? 18 [ref]Yes,

‘if it’s difficult for godly people to be saved,

what will it be like for the ungodly and for sinners.’

19 So for anyone who’s suffering according to God’s will, let them entrust the well-being of their souls to the faithful creator.

12 Beloved, be_ not _being _surprised at _the fiery _trial among you _all for trial to _you _all becoming, as _though of_a_stranger happening to _you _all, 13 but as you _all _are _sharing in _the sufferings of _the chosen _one /messiah, be _rejoicing in _order _that you _all _may _be _elated also exulting in the revelation of _the glory of _him.
14 You _are blessed if you _all _are _being _derided in the_name of_chosen _one /messiah, because the the spirit of _the of _glory and of_ the _god, is _resting on you _all.
15 For/Because not let_ anyone _be _suffering of _you _all as a_murderer, or a_thief, or an_evildoer, or as a_meddler.
16 But if as a_follower _of _the _messiah, not let _him _be _being _ashamed, but let _him _be _glorifying the god in the this name.
17 Because the time it _is which to _begin the judgment from the house of_ the _god, and if first from us, what will _be the outcome of _the ones disbelieving in _the good _message of_ the _god?
18 And if the righteous is _being _saved with _difficulty, where will _be _appearing the ungodly and sinner?
19 So _then also the ones suffering according _to the will of_ the _god, let _them _be _entrusting the souls of _them to_a_faithful creator in welldoing.
