BSB § “You speak as a foolish woman speaks,” he told her. “Should we accept from God only good and not adversity?”
§ In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.

OEB But Job said to her:
⇔ "Must thou too speak
⇔ As a foolish women speak?
 ⇔ We accept from God what is good:
⇔ Shall we not accept what is evil?"
 ⇔ In all this Job was guilty of no sin of speech.

CSB “You speak as a foolish woman speaks,” he told her. “Should we accept only good from God and not adversity? ” Throughout all this Job did not sin in what he said.

NLT But Job replied, “You talk like a foolish woman. Should we accept only good things from the hand of God and never anything bad?” So in all this, Job said nothing wrong.

NIV He replied, “You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?” In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.

CEV Job replied, "Don't talk like a fool! If we accept blessings from God, we must accept trouble as well." In all that happened, Job never once said anything against God.

ESV But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips.

¶ In all this Job didn’t sin with his lips.

NET But he replied, “You’re talking like one of the godless women would do! Should we receive what is good from God, and not also receive what is evil?” In all this Job did not sin by what he said.

LSV And he says to her, “As one of the foolish women speaks, you speak; indeed, do we receive the good from God, and we do not receive the bad?” In all this Job has not sinned with his lips.

FBV But he told her, “You're talking just like any foolish woman would! Should we receive only good from God, and not evil?” Despite all this, Job said nothing sinful.

T4T But Job replied, “You talk like people who do not know God talk. ◄Should we accept only the good things that God does for us?/We should not accept only the good things that God does for us.► [RHQ] We should also accept bad things.” So in spite of all these things that happened to Job, he did not say anything against God.

LEB So he said to her, “You speak like one of the foolish women speaks. Indeed, should we receive the good from God, but not receive the evil?” In all this, Job did not sin with his lips.

NRSV But he said to her, “You speak as any foolish woman would speak. Shall we receive the good at the hand of God, and not receive the bad?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips.

CB But Iob sayde vnto her: Thou speakest like a foolish woma. Seinge we haue receaued prosperite at the honde of God, wherfore shulde we not be content with aduersite also? In all these thinges, dyd not Iob synne with his lippes.
  (But Yob said unto her: Thou speakst like a foolish woma. Seinge we have received prosperite at the hand of God, wherfore should we not be content with aduersite also? In all these things, did not Yob sin with his lippes.)

WYC And Joob seide, Thou hast spoke as oon of the fonned wymmen; if we han take goodis of the hond of the Lord, whi forsothe suffren we not yuels? In alle these thingis Joob synnede not in hise lippis.
  (And Yoob said, Thou hast spoke as one of the fonned women; if we have take goods of the hand of the Lord, why forsothe suffren we not yuels? In all these things Yoob sinned not in his lippis.)

LUT Er aber sprach zu ihr: Du redest, wie die närrischen Weiber reden. Haben wir Gutes empfangen von GOtt und sollten das Böse nicht auch annehmen? In diesem allem versündigte sich Hiob nicht mit seinen Lippen.
  (Er but spoke to ihr: You redest, like the närrischen women reden. Haben wir Gutes empfangen from God and sollten the Böse not also annehmen? In this_one allem versündigte itself/yourself/themselves Hiob not with his Lippen.)

CLV Qui ait ad illam: Quasi una de stultis mulieribus locuta es: si bona suscepimus de manu Dei, mala quare non suscipiamus? In omnibus his non peccavit Job labiis suis.

BRN But he looked on her, and said to her, Thou hast spoken like one of the foolish women. If we have received good things of the hand of the Lord, shall we not endure evil things?
¶ In all these things that happened to him, Job sinned not at all with his lips before God.

¶ Ἐν πᾶσι τούτοις τοῖς συμβεβηκόσιν αὐτῷ οὐδὲν ἥμαρτεν Ἰὼβ τοῖς χείλεσιν ἐναντίον τοῦ Θεοῦ.
  (Ho de emblepsas, eipen autaʸ, hōsper mia tōn afronōn gunaikōn elalaʸsas; ei ta agatha edexametha ek ⱪeiros Kuriou, ta kaka ouⱪ hupoisomen?
¶ En pasi toutois tois sumbebaʸkosin autōi ouden haʸmarten Iōb tois ⱪeilesin enantion tou Theou.)
