TSNTyndale Study Notes:

2:1-16 The grain offering (Hebrew minkhah, “gift, present”) was a way to express worship to the Lord through a gift, recognizing him as Lord over the life of the worshiper. The grain offering was to accompany each whole burnt offering (Num 28:3-6, 12-13), sin offering (Num 6:14-15), and peace offering (Lev 9:4; Num 6:17). The grain offering supplied the priest with bread for his daily sustenance, because no farmland was allocated to priests.

A grain offering of first ripe grains was an offering that consisted of the first harvest of ripened grains, whether wheat or barley. If your language and culture have a term for this portion of the harvest, consider using it here. If not, you could use a general expression. The UST models one way to do that.

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive

אָבִ֞יב קָל֤וּי בָּאֵשׁ֙

fresh_heads_of_grain roasted in/on/at/with,fire

If your language does not use this passive form, you can state this in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: “a tender ear that you have roasted over a fire”

Note 3 topic: translate-unknown
