11:19 Many in Antioch become believers

19Over time, due to the persecution that began with Stephen’s killing, the ones who had moved away went as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, but they only shared Yeshua’s teaching with other Jews. 20However, some of the believers were from Cyprus and Cyrene, and when they got to Antioch they proclaimed the good news from the master Yeshua to the Greeks. 21And the master caused their efforts to prosper, so a large number of Greeks believed and decided to follow the master.

22News about this reached the assembly in Yerushalem, so they sent Barnabas to Antioch. 23When he arrived and saw how God’s grace was spreading, he was elated and encouraged them all to earnestly continue to follow the master. 24Barnabas was good man and full of the holy spirit and full of faith in God, and a large number of people decided to follow Yeshua.

25So Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul, 26and when he found him, he brought him back to Antioch. Then for a whole year they met with the assembly and regularly taught a large crowd. It was there in Antioch that the believers were first called Christians.

27In those days, some prophets from Yerushalem went to Antioch, 28and one of them named Agabus when he was prompted by the spirit, stood up and predicted that the world would experience a severe famine (and this happened later during the reign of Claudius). 29The believers decided to send assistance to their fellow believers who lived in Yudea—each one according to his means— 30and so they did, sending their contributions with Barnabas and Saul to take to the elders.

19The ones therefore indeed having_been_dispersed by the tribulation which having_become concerning Stefanos, passed_through to Foinikaʸ, and Kupros, and Antioⱪeia, speaking the message to_no_one except not/lest only to_Youdaiōns.
20But were some of them men, Cyprians and ones_from_Kuraʸnaʸ, who having_come into Antioⱪeia, were_speaking also to the Hellaʸnistaʸs, good_message_preaching the master Yaʸsous.
21And the_hand of_the_master was with them, and a_great number which having_believed, turned_back to the master.
22And the message concerning them was_heard in the ears of_the assembly which being in Hierousalaʸm/(Yərūshālayim), and they_sent_away Barnabas as_far_as Antioⱪeia, 23who having_arrived, and having_seen the grace which of_ the _god, was_elated and was_exhorting all to_be_remaining with_the master the with_purpose of_ the _heart, 24because he_was a_ good _man, and full of_the_ holy _spirit and of_faith.

25And he_came_out to Tarsos to_seek_out Saulos/(Shāʼūl), 26and having_found him, he_brought him to Antioⱪeia.
And it_became to_them also to_be_gathered_together in the assembly a_ whole _year, and to_teach a_ large _crowd, and to_call first the apprentices/followers, followers_of_the_messiah.

Antioⱪeia.
27And in these the days, prophets came_down from Hierousalaʸm to Antioⱪeia.
28And one from them by_the_name Agabos having_stood_up, signified by the spirit, a_ great _famine to_be_going going_to_be over all the inhabited_world, which became during Klaudios.
29And as anyone of_the apprentices/followers was_prospering, each of_them designated to_send for service to_the brothers dwelling in the Youdaia, 30which they_ also _did, having_sent_out it to the elders by the_hand of_Barnabas and Saulos.
