11:1 Peter explains everything to those in Yerushalem

11Soon the missionaries and other believers in Yudea heard that non-Jews had also accepted God’s message, 2but when Peter went to Yerushalem, the strict Jewish believers were upset with him, 3saying that he had gone into the home of uncircumcised pagans and even eaten with them.

4But Peter started explaining from the beginning, 5“I was staying in Yoppa, and as I was praying I saw a vision of an object like a sheet coming down, as if it was being let down out of the sky by its four corners. As it came down to me 6I looked at it and saw animals, even wild animals, and reptiles and birds. 7I also heard a voice telling me, ‘Peter, get up and slaughter these and eat them.’ 8But I said, ‘Master, I can’t because I’ve never eaten anything that’s forbidden.’ 9But the voice from the sky spoke again, ‘Don’t you be treating anything as unclean that God has made clean.’ 10This happened three times, and then it was pulled up again into the sky. 11Next minute there were three men at the house where I was staying saying that they had been sent from Caesarea to fetch me, 12and the spirit told me to go with them without questioning anything they said. These six other believers went with me, and we arrived at the house of the man who had sent the three. 13He told us how he’d seen one of God’s messengers standing there in his house and who’d told him, ‘Send someone to Yoppa to fetch Simon, the one called Peter, 14and he will explain to you how you and all your household can be saved.’ 15Then when I started speaking to them, the holy spirit came down on them just like it had happened to us previously. 16That reminded me of the words of the master when he told us, ‘Yohan immersed people in water, but you all will be immersed in the holy spirit. 17Therefore if God gave the same gift to them that he’d given to us when we’d believed in the master Yeshua the messiah, what authority did I have to contradict God?’ ”

18When the group heard all this, they had no objections and they praised God, saying, “It seems that God has also allowed the pagans to repent and live.”

11And the ambassadors and the brothers which being in the Youdaia heard that the pagans also received the message of_ the _god.
2and when Petros went_up to Hierousalaʸm/(Yərūshālayim), the ones of the_circumcision were_doubting with him, 3saying, that He_came_in to men, having uncircumcision, and ate_with with_them.
4But Petros having_begun, was_explaining to_them consecutively, saying, 5I was in the_city of_Yoppaʸ praying, and in a_trance I_saw a_vision, an_ certain _object coming_down like a_ by_its_four _linen_sheet, great corners being_let_down out_of the heaven, and it_came until me, 6on which having_looked_intently I_was_observing, and I_saw the quadrupeds of_the earth, and the wild_beasts, and the reptiles, and the birds of_the sky.
7And I_ also _heard from_a_voice saying to_me:
Petros having_risen_up, sacrifice and eat.
8But I_said By_no_means, master, because common or unclean never came_in into the mouth of_me.
9But the_voice answered for a_second time out_of the heaven:
What the god cleansed, you be_ not _defiling.
10And this became for three-times, and all was_pulled_up again into the heaven.
11And see, immediately three men stood_by at the house in which we_were, having_been_sent_out from Kaisareia to me.
12And the spirit told to_me, to_come_together with_them, having_doubted nothing.
And these the six brothers also came with me, and we_came_in into the house of_the man.
13He_reported and to_us how he_saw the messenger in the house of_him, having_been_stood and having_said:
Send_out to Yoppaʸ, and send_for Simōn, the one being_called Petros,
14who will_be_speaking messages to you, in which you will_be_being_saved and all the household of_you.
15And at the time me to_begin to_be_speaking, the the holy spirit fell_on on them, as also on us in the_beginning.
16And I_was_reminded of_the message of_the master, how he_was_saying:
Yōannaʸs on_one_hand immersed in_water, on_the_other_hand you_all will_be_being_immersed in the_ holy _spirit.
17Therefore if the god gave the same gift to_them, as also to_us having_believed on the master Yaʸsous/(Yəhōshūˊa) chosen_one/messiah, who was I powerful to_forbid the god?
18And having_heard these things, they_kept_quiet and glorified the god saying:
Consequently the god also gave the repentance to life to_the pagans.

11:19 Many in Antioch become believers

19Over time, due to the persecution that began with Stephen’s killing, the ones who had moved away went as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, but they only shared Yeshua’s teaching with other Jews. 20However, some of the believers were from Cyprus and Cyrene, and when they got to Antioch they proclaimed the good news from the master Yeshua to the Greeks. 21And the master caused their efforts to prosper, so a large number of Greeks believed and decided to follow the master.

22News about this reached the assembly in Yerushalem, so they sent Barnabas to Antioch. 23When he arrived and saw how God’s grace was spreading, he was elated and encouraged them all to earnestly continue to follow the master. 24Barnabas was good man and full of the holy spirit and full of faith in God, and a large number of people decided to follow Yeshua.

25So Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul, 26and when he found him, he brought him back to Antioch. Then for a whole year they met with the assembly and regularly taught a large crowd. It was there in Antioch that the believers were first called Christians.

27In those days, some prophets from Yerushalem went to Antioch, 28and one of them named Agabus when he was prompted by the spirit, stood up and predicted that the world would experience a severe famine (and this happened later during the reign of Claudius). 29The believers decided to send assistance to their fellow believers who lived in Yudea—each one according to his means— 30and so they did, sending their contributions with Barnabas and Saul to take to the elders.

19The ones therefore indeed having_been_dispersed by the tribulation which having_become concerning Stefanos, passed_through to Foinikaʸ, and Kupros, and Antioⱪeia, speaking the message to_no_one except not/lest only to_Youdaiōns.
20But were some of them men, Cyprians and ones_from_Kuraʸnaʸ, who having_come into Antioⱪeia, were_speaking also to the Hellaʸnistaʸs, good_message_preaching the master Yaʸsous.
21And the_hand of_the_master was with them, and a_great number which having_believed, turned_back to the master.
22And the message concerning them was_heard in the ears of_the assembly which being in Hierousalaʸm/(Yərūshālayim), and they_sent_away Barnabas as_far_as Antioⱪeia, 23who having_arrived, and having_seen the grace which of_ the _god, was_elated and was_exhorting all to_be_remaining with_the master the with_purpose of_ the _heart, 24because he_was a_ good _man, and full of_the_ holy _spirit and of_faith.
And a_ large _crowd was_added to_the master.
25And he_came_out to Tarsos to_seek_out Saulos/(Shāʼūl), 26and having_found him, he_brought him to Antioⱪeia.
And it_became to_them also to_be_gathered_together in the assembly a_ whole _year, and to_teach a_ large _crowd, and to_call first the apprentices/followers, followers_of_the_messiah.
in.
Antioⱪeia.
27And in these the days, prophets came_down from Hierousalaʸm to Antioⱪeia.
28And one from them by_the_name Agabos having_stood_up, signified by the spirit, a_ great _famine to_be_going going_to_be over all the inhabited_world, which became during Klaudios.
29And as anyone of_the apprentices/followers was_prospering, each of_them designated to_send for service to_the brothers dwelling in the Youdaia, 30which they_ also _did, having_sent_out it to the elders by the_hand of_Barnabas and Saulos.
