15:1 The decision from the Yerushalem elders

15Then some people came to Antioch from Yudea and were teaching the believers that according to Mosheh’ teachings, you can’t be saved unless you’ve been circumcised. 2This led to no end of argument and debate between them and Paul and Barnabas until it was decided that the two of them and some other believers should go to Yerushalem to ask the missionaries and the elders there about this issue.

3So indeed the assembly sent the group on their way, and as they passed through Phoenicia and Samaria, they described how non-Jews had become believers and this news made the believers there very happy.

4When they arrived in Yerushalem, they were welcomed by the assembly and the missionaries and the elders, and they explained how God had used them. 5But some of the believers who were also members of the Pharisee party stood up and said, “It’s quite proper for them to be circumcised and to be commanded to keep the Jewish religious laws.”

6So the missionaries and the elders met separately in order to consider the matter further. 7After a lot of debate, Peter stood up and said, “Men, brothers, all of you here know that some time back, God chose me to be a mouthpiece so that the non-Jews could hear the good message and believe. 8And God who knows even people’s inner thoughts, gave them the same holy spirit that he gave us, 9and when he purified their minds by the faith, he didn’t do anything different for them than he did for us. 10So why are you all provoking God by putting a load on the shoulders of these believers that neither we, nor our ancestors, were ever able to bear? 11But we ourselves have believed thanks to the grace of Yeshua the master, and they can be saved in just the same way.”

12The whole group sat in silence, and then they listened to Barnabas and Paul as they described everything that God had done among the non-Jews through them, including miracles and amazing things. 13Then while they were still silent, Yacob responded, “Men, brothers, listen to me. 14Simon Peter has told us how God first intervened in order to select a people for himself from among the non-Jews. 15And this actually agrees with the message that the prophets recorded,

16After these things have happened I will return,

and I will rebuild the worship tent from David’s time that has collapsed,

Although it was overturned, I will rebuild and restore it,

17so that the remaining people will want to find the master,

and also the non-Jews who cried out to me.

The master who is doing these things is saying this,

18and planned it this way from eternity.’

19Because of this, my ruling is not to be troubling the non-Jews who are turning back to God, 20but to write to them to keep away from anything polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, and from strangled animals and eating or drinking blood. 21Mosheh’ writings have been preached in every city and are read in our meeting halls on every Rest Day.

15And some having_come_down from the Youdaia, were_teaching the brothers, that If you_all _may_ not _be_circumcised to_the custom which of_Mōsaʸs/(Mosheh), you_all_are_ not _being_able to_be_saved.
2And dissension and no little debate having_become the by_Paulos and the Barnabas with them, they_determined Paulos and Barnabas and some others from them to_be_going_up, to the ambassadors and elders in Hierousalaʸm/(Yərūshālayim) about the this question.
3therefore indeed The having_been_sent_forward by the assembly, they_were_passing_through the both Foinikaʸ and Samareia/(Shomrōn), describing_in_detail the conversion of_the pagans, and they_were_producing great joy to_all the brothers.
4And having_arrived in Hierousalaʸm, they_were_accepted by the assembly, and the ambassadors, and the elders, and they_declared as_much_as the god did with them.
5But some of_the ones of the sect of_the Farisaios_party having_believed rose_up, saying, that It_is_fitting to_be_circumcising them, and to_be_commanding them to_be_keeping the law of_Mōsaʸs.
6And the ambassadors and the elders were_gathered_together, to_see about the this matter.
7And having_become much debate, Petros having_stood_up said to them:
Men, brothers, you_all are_knowing that from ancient days among you_all, the god chose for_the pagans to_hear by the mouth of_me, the message of_the good_message and to_believe.
8And god the heart_knower testified to_them, having_given them the the holy spirit as also to_us, 9and he_distinguished nothing between both us and them, having_purified the hearts of_them by_the faith.
10Therefore now why are_you_all_testing the god, to_put_on a_yoke on the neck of_the apprentices/followers, that neither the fathers of_us nor we were_able to_bear?
11But by the grace of_the the_master Yaʸsous/(Yəhōshūˊa), we_are_believing to_be_saved also_those in which manner.
12And all the multitude kept_silent, and they_were_hearing from_Barnabas and Paulos, explaining as_much_as the god did, signs and wonders among the pagans by them.
13And after which them to_keep_silent, Yakōbos/(Yaˊₐqoⱱ) answered saying:
Men, brothers, hear from_me.
14Sumeōn/(Shimˊōn) explained as first the god visited, to_take out_of the_pagans a_people for_the name of_him.
15And with_this are_agreeing_together the messages of_the prophets as it_has_been_written, 16After these things I_will_be_returning and I_will_be_rebuilding_up the tent of_Dawid/(Dāvid) which having_fallen, and of_it which having_been_overturned, I_will_be_rebuilding_up and I_will_be_restoring it, 17so_that wishfully the remnant of_the people may_seek_out the master, also all the pagans, on whom has_been_called the name of_me on them, is_saying the_master doing these things, 18known from eternity.
19Therefore I am_judging to_ not _be_troubling to_the ones from the pagans, turning_back to the god, 20but to_write to_them which to_be_keeping_away from_the pollutions of_ the _idols, and the sexual_immorality, and the strangled animal, and the blood.
21For/Because Mōsaʸs/(Mosheh) from ancient generations in_every city the ones proclaiming him, is_having being_read in the synagogues on every day_of_rest.
