Songs 103/Yahweh’s goodness

Psa 103:1–22

103 A song by David.

103Bless Yahweh with my entire self,

and everything that’s within me, bless him because he’s sinless.

2Bless Yahweh with my entire self,

and don’t forget all of his kindnesses.

3He forgives all your acts of disobedience.

He heals you from all your diseases.

4He buys you back from the pit to save your life.

He honours you with his compassion and loyal commitment.

5He gives you the good things that satisfy you.

He makes you feel young and strong like the eagle.

6Yahweh does what is right,

and gives justice all those who’re oppressed.

7He revealed his ways through Mosheh (Moses),

and his activities to the Israelis.

8Yahweh is gracious and merciful,[ref]

slow to get angry and generous in his loyal commitment to us.

9He won’t keep bringing cases against us,

or hold them open forever.

10He doesn’t give us what our rebellion deserves,

or repay us according to how much we disobeyed.

11Just as the heavens are far above the earth,

so his loyal commitment is strong towards those who obey him.

12As far as the east is from the west,

he’s removed the guilt for our disobedience that far away.

13Yahweh has compassion on those who obey him,

just like a father has compassion on his children

14because he knows how we’re made

remembering that we’re just dust.

15As for humankind, their days are like grass that comes and goes.

People are like flowers in the countryside that are here today and gone tomorrow

16because the wind blows across them and they’re finished

then the next day you can’t even tell where they were.

17But Yahweh’s loyal commitment to those who honour him continues forever,

and he gives his favour through to their children’s children—

18to the people who keep his agreement,

and all those who are careful to obey his instructions.

19Yahweh has established his throne in the heavens,

and his kingdom rules over everyone.

20Bless Yahweh, you his heavenly messengers,

you heavenly warrriors,

obeying whatever he says.

21Bless Yahweh, all his heavenly warriors—

his servants who do whatever he wants.

22Bless Yahweh, everything he’s made,

in all the places where he rules.

Bless Yahweh, my own inner being.
