Instructions for the People

22 Then[fn] Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 23 “Speak to the ⌊Israelites⌋,[fn] saying, ‘You[fn] must not eat any fat of ox, or[fn] sheep, or[fn] goat; 24 and a dead body’s fat or[fn] mangled carcass’s fat may be used for any ⌊purpose⌋,[fn] but[fn] you[fn] certainly must not eat it. 25 When anyone eats fat from the domestic animal from which he presented an offering made by fire for Yahweh, then[fn] that person[fn] who ate shall be cut off from his people. 26 And in any of your[fn] dwellings, you must not eat any blood ⌊belonging to⌋[fn] birds[fn] or[fn] domestic animals.[fn] 27 Any person[fn] who eats any blood, that person[fn] shall be cut off from his people.’ ”
