Quibus humanum genus increpuisti: quod tamen ex merito nostro, propter iniquitates nostras increpuisti, quæ sunt ad correctionem; aliter enim iniquitas incorrecta permaneret. Corripuisti hominem. AUG. Est dolor informis qui non emendat: formatus, qui eruditionibus formam præstat. Et talis dolor est præceptum, id est, vicem et imaginem præcepti habet.

38.11 Increpationibus propter iniquitatem. Quibus humanum genus increpuisti: that tamen ex merito nostro, propter iniquitates nostras increpuisti, which are to correctionem; aliter because iniquitas incorrecta permaneret. Corripuisti hominem.
