11:37 Yeshua’s warning about the religious teachers

(Mark 12:38-40, Mat. 23:1-36)

37When Yeshua had a break from speaking, a member of the Pharisee party invited him over for breakfast, so he went into the house and sat down, 38and the man was very surprised that he didn’t observe the handwashing ceremony before he ate. 39But the master said to his host, “Yes, all of you in the Pharisee party clean the outside of the cup and the plate, but your insides are full of theft and wickedness. 40How stupid! Didn’t God who made the outside part, also make what’s inside? 41However, if you sacrificially give what’s inside, then everything would then become clean for you.

42[ref]But you Pharisees won’t end well, because you give a tenth of your herbs and vegetables, yet you all ignore giving justice and loving God, both of which need to be done and cannot be ignored.

43You Pharisees won’t end well, because you all love the best seats in the meeting halls and the honoured greetings in the marketplaces. 44You all won’t end well, because you’re like unmarked graves that people walk all over without even realising—the people simply don’t know that you’re dead inside.

45One of the experts in religious rules there answered him back, “Teacher, you’re insulting us as well when you say that.”

46Well, you law experts won’t end well,” Yeshua responded, “because you put unbearably heavy burdens onto the shoulders of the people, yet you wouldn’t move your little fingers to touch those burdens yourselves. 47You all won’t end well, because you all build fancy tombs for the prophets that your own ancestors executed. 48Because of that, you’re all actually admitting and agreeing to what your ancestors did, because they killed them and then you build their tombs. 49That’s why God in his wisdom said, ‘I’ll send prophets and missionaries to them, which they will then persecute and kill 50so that the blood of those prophets which was spilt from the creation of the world onwards would then be charged to this generation. 51[ref]This goes all the way back to to the blood of Abel, right up to the blood of Zechariah who was recently killed between the altar and the temple sanctuary. Yes, I’m telling all of you, those crimes will be charged to this generation.

52You religious law experts won’t end well, because you took away the key to knowledge—not only did you not enter yourselves, but you also forbade others from entering.

53Once Yeshua left that house, the religious teachers and the Pharisee party started strongly resenting him, and started a plan of asking him more questions 54in the hope of catching an answer that could be used to condemn him.

37And at the time to_speak, a_Farisaios_party_member is_asking him so_that he_may_eat_breakfast with him, and having_come_in, he_sat_down.
38And the Farisaios_party_member having_seen it, marvelled that he_was_ not first _washed before the dinner.
39But the master said to him:
Now you_all the Farisaios_party are_cleansing the part outside of_the cup and of_the platter, and which inside of_you_all is_being_full of_theft and wickedness.
40Foolish.
Not the one having_made the_ outside _part, also made the_ inside _part?
41However give as_alms the things being_within, and see, all things is clean to_you_all.
42But woe to_you_all the Farisaios_party, because you_all_are_tithing the mint, and the rue, and every garden_plant, and you_all_are_passing_by the justice and the love of_ the _god.
And these things it_was_fitting to_do, and_those things to_ not _neglect.
43Woe to_you_all the Farisaios_party, because you_all_are_loving the best_seat in the synagogues, and the greetings in the marketplaces.
44Woe to_you_all, because you_all_are as the the unseen tombs, and the people walking over they_have_ not _known it.
45And someone of_the lawyers answering is_saying to_him:
Teacher, saying these things, you_are_insulting us also.
46But he said, woe also to_you_all the lawyers.
Because you_all_are_burdening the people with_ unbearable _burdens, and yourselves you_all_are_ not _touching upon_the burdens with_one of_the fingers of_you_all.
47Woe to_you_all, because you_all_are_building the tombs of_the prophets, but the fathers of_you_all killed_ them _off.
48Consequently you_all_are_testifying and you_all_are_consenting to_the works of_the fathers of_you_all, because they on_one_hand killed_ them _off, on_the_other_hand you_all are_building their_tombs.
49Because_of this the wisdom of_ the _god also said:
I_will_be_sending_out prophets and ambassadors to them, and they_will_be_killing_off and they_will_be_persecuting of them,
50in_order_that the blood of_all the prophets, which being_poured_out from the_foundation of_the_world may_be_sought_out, from the this generation, 51from the_blood of_Abel/(Heⱱel) to the_blood of_Zaⱪarias, of_the one having_destroyed between the altar and the house.
Yes, I_am_saying to_you_all, it_will_be_being_sought_out from the this generation.
52Woe to_you_all the lawyers, because you_all_took_away the key of_the knowledge, yourselves you_all_ not _came_in, and you_all_forbade the ones coming_in.
53And_from_there of_him of_having_come_out, the scribes and the Farisaios_party began to_be_resenting him terribly, and to_be_interrogating him about more things, 54lying_in_wait him to_catch something out_of the mouth of_him.
