UST The descendants of Jacob will break down all of their pagan altars ⇔  and crush their stones to pieces as if they were chalk. ⇔ They will destroy the idols that they made ⇔  to represent the goddess Asherah and the sun. ⇔ When they do that, it will show that Yahweh has made them stop committing those sins ⇔  and has forgiven them.

NET So in this way Jacob’s sin will be forgiven, ⇔ and this is how they will show they are finished sinning: ⇔ They will make all the stones of the altars ⇔ like crushed limestone, ⇔ and the Asherah poles and the incense altars will no longer stand.

FBV Through this experience Jacob's guilt will be forgiven. The removal of their sins will come to fruition when they take all the pagan altar stones and crush them to pieces like chalk—no Asherah poles or altars of incense will be left standing.
