TSNTyndale Study Notes:

25:14-30 This parable teaches that the Lord expects his servants to be faithful to the task given to them while waiting for his return. The delay of Christ’s return will cause some to turn to evil deeds (24:48-49), some to inactivity (25:3), and some to fearful passivity (25:18).

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / go

πορευθεὶς

/having_been/_gone

In a context such as this, your language might say “come” instead of gone. Alternate translation: “Having come”

Note 2 topic: translate-bmoney

τὰ πέντε τάλαντα & ἄλλα πέντε τάλαντα

the five talents & other five talents

See how you translated talents in 25:15. Alternate translation: “about 90 years’ wages … another 90 years’ wages”

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

ἠργάσατο ἐν αὐτοῖς

worked with them

Here Jesus refers to how people use money to do business and make more money. If it would be helpful in your language, you could make that idea more explicit. Alternate translation: “did business with them” or “put the money to work”
