TSNTyndale Study Notes:

11:11 The death of the two witnesses is not the end of their ministry. God was not defeated in the death of Jesus and he will not be defeated in the slaughter of his witnesses. The God of the resurrection breathed life into the dead so that they stood up (see Ezek 37:3-5, 10), leaving no doubt about God’s power.
• Terror struck: It is a fearful experience for sinful humans to face the power of the living God (see Heb 10:31).

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / personification

πνεῦμα ζωῆς ἐκ τοῦ Θεοῦ εἰσῆλθεν εἰς αὐτούς

/the/_spirit ˱of˲_life from ¬the God came_in into (Some words not found in SR-GNT: καὶ μετὰ τὰς τρεῖς ἡμέρας καὶ ἥμισυ πνεῦμα ζωῆς ἐκ τοῦ Θεοῦ εἰσῆλθεν εἰς αὐτοῖς καὶ ἔστησαν ἐπὶ τοὺς πόδας αὐτῶν καὶ φόβος μέγας ἐπέπεσεν ἐπὶ τοὺς θεωροῦντας αὐτούς)

John is speaking of this breath as if it were a living thing that entered into the bodies of these witnesses on its own. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: “God enabled them to live and breathe again”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / explicitinfo

ἔστησαν ἐπὶ τοὺς πόδας αὐτῶν

˱they˲_stood on the feet ˱of˲_them

It might seem that this expression contains extra information that would be unnatural to express in your language. If so, you could shorten it. Alternate translation: “they stood up”

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / personification

φόβος μέγας ἐπέπεσεν ἐπὶ τοὺς θεωροῦντας αὐτούς

fear great fell_on on the_‹ones› observing them

John is speaking figuratively of fear as if it were a living thing that actively fell on people who saw the witnesses alive again. If it would be helpful in your language, you could state the meaning plainly. Alternate translation: “the ones seeing them became greatly afraid”
