ULTThe one regarding the day, regards it for the Lord; and the one eating, eats for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God, and the one not eating, does not eat for the Lord; he also gives thanks to God.

USTThe person who thinks certain days are special does so in order to honor the Lord. The person who eats every kind of food does so in order to honor the Lord. This is because that person is thankful to God. The person who refuses to eat certain foods does so in order to honor the Lord. That person is thankful to God as well.

BSBHe who observes [a special] day [does so] to [the] Lord;[fn] he who eats [does so] to [the] Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains [does so] to [the] Lord and gives thanks to God.

MSBHe who observes [a special] day [does so] to [the] Lord. And he [who] {does} not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe [it].[fn] He who eats [does so] to [the] Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains [does so] to [the] Lord and gives thanks to God.

BLBThe one regarding the day, regards it to the Lord; the one eating, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and the one not eating, does not eat to the Lord and gives thanks to God.

AICNTThe one who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord [[and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it]].[fn] [And][fn] The one who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, since they give thanks to God; and the one who abstains, abstains in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God.

OEBThe person who observes a day, observes it to the Master’s honour. They, again, who eat meat eat it to the Master’s honour, for they give thanks to God; while the person who abstains from it abstains from it to the Master’s honour, and also gives thanks to God.

WEBBE & WMBBHe who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks. He who doesn’t eat, to the Lord he doesn’t eat, and gives God thanks.

NETThe one who observes the day does it for the Lord. The one who eats, eats for the Lord because he gives thanks to God, and the one who abstains from eating abstains for the Lord, and he gives thanks to God.

LSVHe who is regarding the day, he regards [it] to the LORD, and he who is not regarding the day, he does not regard [it] to the LORD. He who is eating, he eats to the LORD, for he gives thanks to God; and he who is not eating, he does not eat to the LORD, and gives thanks to God.

FBVThose who respect a special day do so for the Lord; and those who eat without worrying[fn] do so for the Lord since they give thanks to God; while those who avoid eating certain things do so for the Lord, and they also give thanks to God.

TCNTHe who observes a particular day, observes it in honor of the [fn]Lord, while he who abstains from observing a particular day, abstains in honor of the Lord. T4TAs for those who believe that they should worship on a certain day of the week, it is to honor the Lord that they worship on that day. And as for those who think that it is all right to eat all kinds of food, it is to honor the Lord that they eat those foods, as is clear from their thanking God for the food that they eat. As for those who abstain from eating certain kinds of food, it is to honor the Lord that they do not eat those foods, and they also thank God for the food that they do eat. So doing either of those things is not wrong in itself.

LEBThe one who is intent on the day is intent on it for the Lord, and the one who eats eats for the Lord, because he is thankful to God, and the one who does not eat does not eat for the Lord, and he is thankful to God.
