ULT Therefore the Lord Yahweh says this: Woe to the city of blood, a cooking pot that has rust in it and that rust will not come out of it. Take piece after piece from it, but do not cast lots for it.
UST Do that because this is what Yahweh the Lord says:
⇔ ‘Terrible things will happen to Jerusalem; it is city that is full of murderers,
⇔ a city that is like a corroded copper pot,
⇔ and the corrosion cannot be removed.
⇔ Take the pieces of meat out of the pot,
⇔ but do not choose which pieces to take out.
BSB § Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says:
⇔ ‘Woe to the city of bloodshed,
⇔ to the pot now rusted,
⇔ whose rust will not come off!
⇔ Empty it piece by piece;
⇔ cast no lots for its contents.
OEB For thus saith Jehovah: “Woe to the bloody city, that caldron full of rust, from which the rust is not yet gone!
WEB “‘Therefore the Lord Yahweh says:
⇔ “Woe to the bloody city,
⇔ to the cauldron whose rust is in it,
⇔ and whose rust hasn’t gone out of it!
⇔ Take out of it piece after piece
⇔ without casting lots for it.
WMB “‘Therefore the Lord GOD says:
⇔ “Woe to the bloody city,
⇔ to the cauldron whose rust is in it,
⇔ and whose rust hasn’t gone out of it!
⇔ Take out of it piece after piece
⇔ without casting lots for it.
NET “‘Therefore this is what the sovereign Lord says:
⇔ Woe to the city of bloodshed,
⇔ the pot whose rot is in it,
⇔ whose rot has not been removed from it!
⇔ Empty it piece by piece.
⇔ No lot has fallen on it.
LSV Therefore, thus said Lord YHWH: Woe [to] the city of blood,
A pot whose scum [is] in it,
And its scum has not come out of it,
By piece of it, by piece of it bring it out, a lot has not fallen on it.
FBV So this is what the Lord God says: Disaster is coming to the city of that has shed so much blood! It is symbolized by the rusted pot, whose rust can't be cleaned off. Take out the meat bit by bit as it comes—don't choose which piece.
T4T § Do that because this is what Yahweh the Lord says:
⇔ ‘Terrible things will happen toJerusalem;
⇔ it is city that is full of murderers [MTY],
⇔ a city that is like [MET] a scorched pot
⇔ whose black residue inside cannot be removed.
⇔ Take the pieces of meat out of the pot,
⇔ but do not choose which pieces to take out.
LEB Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: “Woe to the city of bloodguilt! A pot that has its rust in it; its rust did not go out from it. Bring it outpiece by piece;one is as good as another.
BBE For this is what the Lord has said: A curse is on the town of blood, the cooking-pot which is unclean inside, which has never been made clean! take out its bits; its fate is still to come on it.

KJB ¶ Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose scum is therein, and whose scum is not gone out of it! bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall upon it.
BB With that sayde the Lorde God on this maner, Wo vnto the blooddy citie, to the pot whose scumme is therin, & whose scumme is not gone out of it: bryng it out peece by peece, let no lot fall vpon it.
(With that said the Lord God on this manner, Woe unto the blooddy city, to the pot whose scumme is therin, and whose scumme is not gone out of it: bring it out peece by peece, let no lot fall upon it.)
GNV Because the Lord God sayth thus, Woe to the bloody citie, euen to the pot, whose skomme is therein, and whose skomme is not gone out of it: bring it out piece by piece: let no lot fall vpon it.
(Because the Lord God saith/says thus, Woe to the bloody city, even to the pot, whose skomme is therein, and whose skomme is not gone out of it: bring it out piece by piece: let no lot fall upon it.)
CB With that, sayde the LORDE God on this maner: Wo be vnto the bloudy cite of ye pot, whervpon the rustynesse hageth, and is not yet scoured awaye. Take out the peces that are in it, one after another: there nede no lottes be cast therfore,

(Therefore spricht the LORD HErr: O the mörderischen Stadt, the a solcher Topf is, there the Angebrannte drinnen klebet, and not abgehen will! Tue a Stück nach to_him change heraus, and darfst not therefore losen, which erst heraus solle.)
CLV Propterea hæc dicit Dominus Deus: Væ civitati sanguinum, ollæ cujus rubigo in ea est, et rubigo ejus non exivit de ea ! per partes et per partes suas ejice eam: non cecidit super eam sors.
(That's_why this dicit Master God: Alas civitati sanguinum, ollæ cuyus rubigo in ea it_is, and rubigo eyus not/no exivit about ea ! per partes and per partes their_own eyice eam: not/no cecidit super her sors.)
BRN Therefore thus saith the Lord; O bloody city, the caldron in which there is scum, and the scum has not gone out of, she has brought it forth piece by piece, no lot has fallen upon it.

24:1-14 At first sight, the picture of a cooking pot is positive, conjuring expectations of good food and fellowship. Various choice pieces of a sacrificial animal had been gathered, a fire was kindled underneath the pot, and the contents were brought to a simmer. However, as in many parables, there is a sting in the tail of the story. What ought to have been a tasty meal had become a foul, profane mess. The choice pieces of meat that had gone in were uniformly corrupt when they came out. The pot represented Jerusalem (24:9); its contents would be burned and destroyed.

(Occurrence 0) but do not cast lots for it
(Some words not found in UHB: for=so/thus/hence thus he/it_had_said my=master/master GOD woe (a)_city the,bloody pot which/who rust,its in/on/at/with,it and,rust,whose not gone_out from=her/it by,piece,her by,piece,her empty,it not throw on/upon=it(f) lots )
Casting lots was a way of choosing which pieces of meat to take out, but because Yahweh wants to take out all of the pieces of meat, there is no need to cast lots.
