TSNTyndale Study Notes:

4:11-12 As with his father (cp. 3:9-12, 17-19), Cain’s interrogation (4:9-10) was followed by God’s verdict. Adam’s sin had already caused the ground to be cursed. Now Cain was cursed and banished from the land he farmed because he had contaminated it with innocent blood.
• homeless wanderer: Cain was condemned to ceaseless roving in a land that would provide neither sustenance nor security. The effects of sin were escalating.

UTNuW Translation Notes:

that/for/because/then/when

Alternate translation: “As a result, whenever”

תַֽעֲבֹד֙ אֶת הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה

you(ms)_work/serve/till DOM the=soil

See how you translated work the ground in Gen 2:5 and 3:23; also see similar phrases in 4:2, 11. Alternate translation: “you try to farm the soil,”

לֹֽא תֹסֵ֥ף תֵּת כֹּחָ֖הּ לָ֑ךְ

not it_will_add/repeat to_give her/its=vigor/produce to/for=you(fs)

Alternate translation: “it will no longer grow good crops for you.” or “it will not grow enough food for you anymore.”

תִּֽהְיֶ֥ה

you(ms)_will_be

Consider whether or not it is better in your language to begin a new sentence here. Alternate translation: “and you will also”

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / hendiadys

נָ֥ע וָנָ֖ד תִּֽהְיֶ֥ה בָאָֽרֶץ

wavering/wandering and=nodding/deploring/taunting you(ms)_will_be in/on_the=earth

The phrase a fugitive and a wanderer forms a hendiadys. Consider what is the best way to translate that phrase in your language. Alternate translation: “be a fugitive who wanders around on the earth without a permanent home.” or “be a homeless outcast on the earth.” or “be rejected by people so that you have no permanent home and have to move from place to place.”
