Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive

the bull that was given to them

(Some words not found in UHB: and=they_took DOM the,bull which/who he/it_gave to/for=them and,prepared and,called in/on/at/with,name the,Baal from,the,morning and=unto the,noon to=say the,Baal answer,us and,there_was_no sound/voice and,no answered and,limped on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in the,altar which/who he/it_had_made )

If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: “the bull that someone gave them”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / parallelism

But there was no voice, nor anyone who answered

(Some words not found in UHB: and=they_took DOM the,bull which/who he/it_gave to/for=them and,prepared and,called in/on/at/with,name the,Baal from,the,morning and=unto the,noon to=say the,Baal answer,us and,there_was_no sound/voice and,no answered and,limped on/upon/above/on_account_of//he/it_went_in the,altar which/who he/it_had_made )

These two phrases share similar meanings and emphasize that there was no one to respond to the prayers of the false prophets. The word “voice” represents someone speaking. Alternate translation: “But Baal did not say or do anything” (See also: figs-synecdoche)
