UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns

כְּחָכְמָתֶ֑ךָ

according_to,wisdom,your

If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea of wisdom, you could express the same idea in another way. Alternate translation: “what you consider to be wise”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / euphemism

וְלֹֽא־תוֹרֵ֧ד שֵׂיבָת֛וֹ בְּשָׁלֹ֖ם שְׁאֹֽל

and=not go_down gray_head,his in/on/at/with,peace sheol

David is referring to Joab’s death in a polite way by referring to going down to Sheol. Alternate translation: “and you shall not let his gray hair pass away in peace” or “and you shall not let his gray hair experience death in peace”

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

וְלֹֽא־תוֹרֵ֧ד שֵׂיבָת֛וֹ
