TSNTyndale Study Notes:

2:6-11 Paul uses a chiasm (“X” arrangement) to make his point:

  1. A God judges everyone the same (2:6)
  2. B Life is the reward for doing good (2:7)
  3. C Wrath is the penalty for evil (2:8)
  4. C Wrath for doing evil (2:9)
  5. B Life for doing good (2:10)
  6. A God shows no favoritism (2:11)

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns

οὐ & ἐστιν προσωπολημψία παρὰ τῷ Θεῷ

not & is favoritism with ¬the God

If your language does not use an abstract noun for the idea of favoritism, you could express the same idea in another way. Alternate translation: “God does not honor one type of person above another” or “God is not more favorable toward one person than another”
