UTNuW Translation Notes:

General Information:

Hosea the prophet is speaking.

(Occurrence 0) Yahweh’s land

(Some words not found in UHB: not remain in=land YHWH and, return ʼEfərayim Miʦərayim/(Egypt) and,in/on/at/with,Assyria unclean eat )

This expression signals that Yahweh continues to view the land of Israel as his property, not the property of the Israelites.

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

(Occurrence 0) unclean food

(Some words not found in UHB: not remain in=land YHWH and, return ʼEfərayim Miʦərayim/(Egypt) and,in/on/at/with,Assyria unclean eat )

This is food that the Israelites would normally refuse to eat because it would make them unacceptable to Yahweh.
