38.17 Si profectus exieris, etc. Propheta, prævidens civitatem esse tradendam in manus Chaldæorum, consilium dedit regi ut se traderet in manus regis Babylonis, ut sic furibundum ejus animum mitigaret, et leviorem sententiam susciperet; sed mens indurata corrigi non poterat.
