TSNTyndale Study Notes:

Ps 145 This hymn of praise is the last in this collection of the psalms of David (Pss 138–145). Praise continues in the last five psalms (Pss 146–150). This psalm celebrates the Lord as King of all (145:1-3, 10-13). God’s actions reveal his royal qualities (145:4-7). He cares for all creatures (145:14-17) and for those who fear him (145:18-20).

My mouth will speak

(Some words not found in UHB: praise YHWH speak mouth,my and,bless all/each/any/every flesh/meat name_of holy,his for,ever and,ever )

Here the words “My mouth” represent the one speaking. Alternate translation: “I will speak”

will speak out the praise of Yahweh

(Some words not found in UHB: praise YHWH speak mouth,my and,bless all/each/any/every flesh/meat name_of holy,his for,ever and,ever )

Alternate translation: “tell everyone how good Yahweh is”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

let all mankind bless his holy name

(Some words not found in UHB: praise YHWH speak mouth,my and,bless all/each/any/every flesh/meat name_of holy,his for,ever and,ever )

The word “name” is a metonym for Yahweh himself. See how “may his glorious name be blessed” is translated in Psalms 72:19. Alternate translation: “let all people bless him” or “let all people do what makes him happy”
