TSNTyndale Study Notes:

12:18 Do all that you can: Paul recognizes that our efforts to live at peace with others will sometimes be frustrated by our own moral constraints or by other people’s unwillingness to be reconciled to us.

UTNuW Translation Notes:

τὸ ἐξ ὑμῶν

¬which of you_all

Alternate translation: “so far as it depends on you” or “as much as it is up to you”

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / declarative

μετὰ πάντων ἀνθρώπων εἰρηνεύοντες

with all people being_at_peace

Paul is using a statement to give a command. If it would be helpful in your language, you could use a more natural form for commands. Alternate translation: “live at peace with all men”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / gendernotations

πάντων ἀνθρώπων

all people

Although the term men is masculine, Paul is using the word here in a generic sense that includes both men and women. Alternate translation: “all people”
