TSNTyndale Study Notes:

5:23-28 Greek and Roman letters ended with a wish for the good health of the recipient. Jewish letters concluded with a peace blessing. Paul closes with a Christian variation on these practices.

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

προσεύχεσθε καὶ

/be/_praying also

Here, also indicates that the Thessalonians should be praying for Paul, Silas, and Timothy just as Paul, Silas, and Timothy pray for them (see 5:23). If it would be helpful in your language, you could make this idea more explicit. Alternate translation: “just as we pray for you, pray also”
