UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / ellipsis

וְצִוָּ֨ה הַכֹּהֵ֜ן

and,command the=priest/officer

This expression leaves out some of the words that in many languages a sentence would need in order to be complete. Here, the priest is telling the people what to do with the house that is infected with mold or mildew. You could supply these words from earlier in the sentence if it would be clearer in your language. Alternate translation: “Then the priest shall tell the people what to do”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

and,empty DOM the,house in/on/at/with,before goes_in the=priest/officer to=see DOM the,disease and=not become_unclean all/each/any/every which/who in/on/at/with,house

This means that unless the owners and residents of the house open all the windows in preparation for the priest to arrive to inspect the household mold, the priest will declare the house and everything (and, likely, everyone) in it to be unclean. It may be helpful to clarify this for your readers in a footnote or in the text of your translation. Alternate translation: “and they shall open up the windows of the house before the priest comes to see the infection. If they do not do this, the priest will declare everything that is in the house unclean”

Note 3 topic: writing-pronouns

וּפִנּ֣וּ אֶת־הַבַּ֗יִת

and,empty DOM the,house

Here, they refers to the residents of the house. If this would not be clear in your language, consider stating the referent explicitly. Alternate translation: “and the people in the house shall open the house”

Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / activepassive

וְלֹ֥א יִטְמָ֖א כָּל־ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּבָּ֑יִת

and=not become_unclean all/each/any/every which/who in/on/at/with,house

Once the priest declared the house to be unclean, everything in the house became unclean, as well. If your language does not use the passive form in this way, you can state this in active form or in another way that is natural in your language. Alternate translation: “so that the priest does not need to declare anything or anyone in the house to be unclean”

וְאַ֥חַר כֵּ֛ן

and=after yes/correct/thus/so

Alternate translation: “And afterward”
