UST So when Pilate heard that, he ordered his soldiers to bring Jesus out. Then Pilate sat down to pronounce a verdict on the seat where he usually pronounced verdicts. This was at a place people called “The Stone Pavement,” which was “Gabbatha” in the language spoken by the Jews.
