TSNTyndale Study Notes:

40:1-23 Joseph did not lose faith in God’s promises, as evidenced by his readiness to interpret the dreams of two prisoners. He was still convinced that God’s revelation in his own two dreams (37:5-11) was true, and he had not abandoned hope that they would be fulfilled. When the fellow prisoners’ dreams were fulfilled exactly as Joseph said, this confirmed that his previous dreams were from God.

UTNuW Translation Notes:

כִּ֧י אִם זְכַרְתַּ֣נִי אִתְּךָ֗ כַּאֲשֶׁר֙ יִ֣יטַב לָ֔ךְ

וְעָשִֽׂיתָ נָּ֥א עִמָּדִ֖י חָ֑סֶד

and,show please with=me kindness

See how you translated “showed kindness to” in Gen 39:21. It may be necessary to translate this phrase in different ways, depending on the context. Alternate translation: “and please be gracious to me,” or “and please do me a favor,”

Note 1 topic: grammar-honorifics

וְהִזְכַּרְתַּ֨נִי֙ אֶל פַּרְעֹ֔ה

and,mention,me to/towards Farˊoh

Make sure that the way Joseph refers to King Pharaoh sounds respectful in your translation. Alternate translation: “and tell King Pharaoh about me and how I was falsely accused,”

and,get_~_out,me from/more_than the,house the,this
