5.27 for…: Heb. for thyself

5.27 Investigavimus. In hoc notat se, non secundum superficiem dixisse supra sepulcrum, bestias, lapides, tabernaculum, et hujusmodi, sed in his interiora quæsisse. Quod auditum mente pertracta. Verba jactantiæ; et si bene docuit, imperitia est velle docere meliorem: unde dicta amicorum etsi recta, non recte dicta arguuntur.

5.27 Investigavimus. In hoc notat se, not/no after/second superficiem dixisse supra sepulcrum, bestias, lapides, tabernaculum, and huyusmodi, but in his interiora quæsisse. That auditum mente pertracta. Verba yactantiæ; and when/but_if bene docuit, imperitia it_is velle docere meliorem: whence dicta amicorum etsi recta, not/no recte dicta arguuntur.

By We, Eliphaz means himself and other wise people but not Job, to whom he is speaking, so use the exclusive form of that word in your translation if your language marks that distinction.

וְ⁠אַתָּ֥ה דַֽע

and=you(ms) know

For emphasis, Eliphaz is stating the pronoun you, whose meaning is already present in the word translated know. If your language can state implied pronouns explicitly for emphasis, you may want to use that construction here in your translation. Other languages may have other ways of bringing out this emphasis. Alternate translation: “and know it certainly”
