ULT And Isaiah said, “Bring a cake of figs.” And they brought it, and they set it on the sore, and he lived.

UST Isaiah returned to the palace and told Hezekiah what Yahweh had said. Then he said to Hezekiah’s servants, “Bring a paste made of boiled figs. Put some of it on his boils, and he will get well.” The servants did that, and the king recovered.

Nam Aquila, Symmachus et Theodotio, aroc interpretati sunt, quod morbum regium intelligunt, cui contraria putantur vel sumpta in cibo, vel apposita corpori quæcunque sunt dulcia. Dei ergo potentia monstratur, dum per res noxias sanitas restituitur. Alii schim, apostema suspicantur, quando tumens corpus cocto et putrescente pure completur. Et juxta artem medicorum, omnis sanies siccioribus ficis atque contusis in cutis superficiem provocatur. RAB. Datur signum ut sol decem gradibus revertatur, etc., usque ad et ogdoade viventibus per resurrectionem Christi vitæ spatia pro vitæ spatio protelentur. ID. 20:1-19 About that time: This general time reference indicates that the order of events is thematic rather than chronological. The episode concerning Merodach-baladan (20:12-19), whom Sennacherib had driven from Babylon before 701 BC, happened earlier than the events of chs 18–19 but after Hezekiah’s illness (20:12).
