ULT Neither that all the children are seed of Abraham. But, “In Isaac your seed will be called.”

UST It is also not true that all those who physically descended from Abraham are Abraham’s true offspring. Rather, as God says to Abraham in the Scriptures, “I will identify your true offspring through those who descend from Isaac.”

9.7 In Isaac. Id est in Christo, vocante gratia, congregantur. In Isaac promissione præfigurati sunt, non qui seipsos justos, sed quos Deus facit; hi sunt filii liberæ quæ sursum est, quæ est mater nostra. Filii carnis sunt terrenæ Jerusalem, quæ servit cum filiis suis. Sicut Isaac non meruit ut nasciturus promitteretur, sic et isti, sed sola gratia promissa est et eis data filiorum adoptio.

9.7 In Isaac. Id it_is in Christo, vocante gratia, congregantur. In Isaac promissione præfigurati are, not/no who seipsos justos, but which God facit; hi are children liberæ which sursum it_is, which it_is mater nostra. Filii carnis are terrenæ Yerusalem, which servit when/with childrens to_his_own. Sicut Isaac not/no meruit as nasciturus promitteretur, so and isti, but sola gratia promissa it_is and eis data filiorum adoptio.

But ere indicates that what follows in some way contradicts what was said previously. Here, Paul is using a quotation from an Old Testament book (Genesis 21:12).
