BSB § Then you are to answer them: ‘It is because your fathers have forsaken Me, declares the LORD, and followed other gods, and served and worshiped them. They abandoned Me and did not keep My instruction.

OEB Tell them then, "Jehovah doth solemnly declare: it is because your fathers abandoned Me for the worship and the service of other gods; yes, they abandoned Me and neglected My law.

FBV Answer them: It's because your forefathers deserted me, declares the Lord. They went and followed other gods, serving them and worshiping them. They abandoned me and didn't keep my laws.
