UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

(Occurrence 0) He will truly plead their case

(Some words not found in UHB: redeemer,their strong YHWH armies/angels his/its=name to_defend he_will_defend DOM cause,their so_that bring_rest DOM the=earth/land and,unrest to,inhabitants Bāⱱelh )

Yahweh is spoken of as if he were a lawyer who represents the people of Israel in court.

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / metonymy

(Occurrence 0) in order to bring rest to the land

(Some words not found in UHB: redeemer,their strong YHWH armies/angels his/its=name to_defend he_will_defend DOM cause,their so_that bring_rest DOM the=earth/land and,unrest to,inhabitants Bāⱱelh )

Here “the land” is a metonym for the people who live in the land. Alternate translation: “in order that the people who live in Israel might live in peace”

(Occurrence 0) bring rest … bring strife

(Some words not found in UHB: redeemer,their strong YHWH armies/angels his/its=name to_defend he_will_defend DOM cause,their so_that bring_rest DOM the=earth/land and,unrest to,inhabitants Bāⱱelh )

These two terms represent opposite ideas and bring a strong contrast to how Yahweh will treat Israel and Babylon.

(Occurrence 0) bring rest

(Some words not found in UHB: redeemer,their strong YHWH armies/angels his/its=name to_defend he_will_defend DOM cause,their so_that bring_rest DOM the=earth/land and,unrest to,inhabitants Bāⱱelh )

Alternate translation: “give peace”
