29:26-30 The Chronicler concludes his account of David’s reign with a stylized summary, similar in form to those used for all the kings of Israel and Judah (e.g., 1 Kgs 22:41-50). Like Abraham (Gen 25:8) and Isaac (Gen 35:29), David . . . died at a ripe old age with wealth and honor.
