TSNTyndale Study Notes:

22:16 when I have been dishonored among the nations because of you: Having his people scattered among the nations instead of dwelling in the land of promise inevitably dishonored the Lord, since it appeared that he was unable to give them what he had promised. However, the Lord was willing to endure that dishonor so that his forgetful people could learn to remember him.

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

(Occurrence 0) So you will become unclean in the eyes of the nations

(Some words not found in UHB: and,profaned on/over=you(fs) in,sight nations and,know that/for/because/then/when I YHWH )

Here the “nations” refer to the people who live in those places. The “eyes” represent seeing, and seeing represents thoughts or judgment. Alternate translation: “So the nations will consider you unclean”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / explicit

(Occurrence 0) know that I am Yahweh

(Some words not found in UHB: and,profaned on/over=you(fs) in,sight nations and,know that/for/because/then/when I YHWH )

When Yahweh says that people will know that he is Yahweh, he is implying that they will know that he is the one true God who has supreme authority and power. See how you translated this in Ezekiel 6:7. Alternate translation: “understand that I am Yahweh, the one true God” or “realize that I, Yahweh, have supreme power and authority”
