9.17 In turbine etiam conteret me. Qui in tranquillitate exspectatus contempsit, in turbine conteretur. Turbine: quia in commotione elementorum ibi districte requiri opera timet: cum et quosdam sine operibus originali reatu damnari videt, quorum voce ait: Multiplicabit vulnera mea. Quia ipsi nihil egerunt, unde dicitur: Non est mundus in conspectu ejus, nec infans unius diei. Sine causa.

Hæc also spiritualiter about Yob, who flagella God in turbine, and metuens prævidit, and prævidens pertulit, whence ait: And multiplicabit vulnera mea without causa, because not/no pro culpa percussus it_is, whence supra, ut affligerem him frustra.

TSNTyndale Study Notes:

9:17 with a storm: Perhaps the words translated “with a storm” (bis’arah) are a double entendre with besa‘arah (“for a hair”; i.e., “for the littlest thing”), which would parallel without cause.

בִּשְׂעָרָ֥ה

in/on/at/with,tempest

When Job says that God would send a tempest or violent storm to break (destroy) him if he challenged God, Job could be using the storm to represent various troubles that God would cause him to experience. However, since God does approach Job in a violent storm at the end of the book, it would be appropriate to retain the term tempest in your translation rather than interpret the term as symbolic.
