OET-LV YAC Chapter 2
OET ◄ YAC 2 ► ║ ═ ©
Note that the OET uses ‘Yacob’ for ‘The Letter of Jacob’ (wrongly called ‘James’ in older Bibles).
This is still a very early look into the unfinished text of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check the text in advance before using in public.

2 Brothers of _ me , not with favouritism be _ holding the faith of _ the master of _ us , Yaʸsous/(Yə hōshūˊa) chosen _ one/messiah , of _ the _ glory .
2 For/Because if may _ come_ in into the _ synagogue of _ you_ all , a _ man gold _ ring , in clothing splendid , and may _ come_ in also a _ poor man , in filthy clothing , 3 and you _ all_ may_ look_ at on the wearing the clothing the splendid , and you _ all_ may_ say :
You be _ sitting here good , and to _ the poor you _ all_ may_ say :
You stand there , or :
Be _ sitting under the footstool of _ me , 4 not you _ all_ were_ distinguished among yourselves , and became judges with _ speculations evil ?
5 Hear , brothers of _ me beloved :
not the god chose the poor in _ the world , rich in faith to _ be , and heirs of _ the kingdom which he _ promised to _ the loving him ?
6 But you _ all dishonoured the poor .
Not the rich are _ oppressing over _ you_ all , and they are _ dragging you _ all into courts ?
7 Not they are _ slandering the good name which having _ been_ called on you _ all ?
8 If however the _ law you _ all_ are_ accomplishing royal , according _ to the scripture :
You _ will_ be_ loving the neighbor of _ you as yourself , well you _ all_ are_ doing .
9 But if you _ all_ are_ showing_ favouritism , sin you _ all_ are_ doing , being _ rebuked by the law as transgressors .
10 For/Because whoever all the law may _ keep , but may _ stumble in one , has _ become of _ all liable .
11 For/Because the having _ said :
Not you _ may_ commit_ adultery , said also :
Not you _ may_ murder .
And if not you _ are_ committing_ adultery , but you _ are_ murdering you _ have_ become a _ transgressor of _ the _ law .
12 Thus be _ speaking , and thus be _ doing , as by the _ law of _ freedom going to _ be_ being_ judged .
13 For/Because the judgment merciless will _ be to _ the not having _ doing mercy .
Is _ triumphing mercy over _ judgment .
14 What is profit , brothers of _ me , if faith may _ be_ saying anyone , to _ be_ having but , works not may _ be_ having ?
Not is _ able the faith to _ save him ?
15 If a _ brother or a _ sister naked may _ be_ being , and lacking of _ the _ daily food , 16 and may _ say anyone to _ them from you _ all :
Be _ going in peace , be _ warming and be _ satisfying , not but you _ all_ may_ give to _ them the necessary for _ their body , what is profit ?
17 Thus also the faith , if not it _ may_ be_ having works , dead it _ is by itself .
18 But will _ be_ saying someone :
You faith are _ having , and _ I works am _ having .
Show to _ me the faith of _ you without the works , and _ I to _ you will _ be_ showing by the works of _ me the faith .
19 You are _ believing that one is the god .
Well you _ are_ doing , even the demons are _ believing and are _ shuddering .
20 But you _ are_ wanting to _ know , Oh person vain , that the faith apart _ from the works idle is ?
21 Abraʼam/(ʼAⱱrāhām) the father of _ us not by works was _ justified , having _ offered_ up Isaʼak/(Yiʦḩāq) the son of _ him on the altar ?
22 You _ are_ seeing that his faith was _ working_ together with _ the works of _ him , and by his works his faith was _ perfected .
23 And was _ fulfilled the scripture which saying :
And believed Abraʼam in _ - god , and it _ was_ counted to _ him for righteousness , and a _ friend of _ god he _ was_ called .
24 You _ all_ are_ seeing that by works is _ being_ justified a _ person , and not by faith only .
25 And likewise also Ɽaⱪab/(Rāḩāⱱ) the prostitute not by works was _ justified , having _ welcomed the messengers and by _ another way having _ sent_ forth ?
26 For/Because as the body apart _ from spirit dead is , thus also the faith apart _ from works dead is .
