2.1 Nolite. Quasi dicat: Dominus non divites invitat ad fidem et pauperes despicit, sed pauperes elegit in hoc mundo, et eos fide donavit. Mundus pauperem abjicit, divitem colit; fides Christi econtra docet quia omnis gloria divitum tanquam flos feni, misericordia in pauperes floret in æternum. Domini gloriæ. Dominum gloriæ nominat, ut ejus jussis obediatur, qui sempiterna gloria remunerat id quod pro ejus amore pauperibus datur.

Mundus pauperem abyicit, divitem colit; fides Christi econtra teaches because everyone gloria divitum tanquam flos feni, misericordia in pauperes floret in eternal. Domini gloriæ. TSNTyndale Study Notes:

2:1 dear brothers and sisters (Greek adelphoi): The Greek word used here means members of the same family—in this case, fellow Christians—of either sex. James frequently begins a new section with this affectionate greeting (1:2, 16; 2:14; 3:1; 5:7, 19), soliciting their loyal response.
• James contrasts our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with the glory of a well-dressed man (2:2). Christ’s glory includes his resurrection, exaltation, and second coming.

UTNuW Translation Notes:

Note 1 topic: figures-of-speech / metaphor

ἀδελφοί μου

brothers ˱of˲_me

See how you translated the term brothers in 1:2. Alternate translation: “My fellow believers”

Note 2 topic: figures-of-speech / abstractnouns

μὴ ἐν προσωπολημψίαις ἔχετε

not with favoritism /be/_holding

If it would be helpful in your language, you could express the idea behind the abstract noun favoritism with an equivalent phrase. (See the discussion of favoritism in the General Notes to this chapter.) Alternate translation: “you should not treat some people better than others, because that is not consistent with”

Note 3 topic: figures-of-speech / possession

τὴν πίστιν τοῦ Κυρίου ἡμῶν, Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ

the faith ˱of˲_the Lord ˱of˲_us Jesus Christ

James is using the possessive form to refer to faith that other people have in Jesus. Alternate translation: “faith in our Lord Jesus Christ”

Note 4 topic: figures-of-speech / possession

τοῦ Κυρίου ἡμῶν, Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ, τῆς δόξης

˱of˲_the Lord ˱of˲_us Jesus Christ ¬the ˱of˲_glory

James is using the possessive form to describe Jesus as characterized by glory. Alternate translation: “our glorious Lord Jesus Christ”
