16 Yahweh met with Bileam and gave him a message and told him, “Go back to Balak, and give him that message.” 17 So he returned to him where he was standing with the leaders from Moab beside the altar, and Balak asked him, “What did Yahweh say?”

18 Then Bileam gave his speech,

“Look here, Balak, and listen.

≈Pay attention to me, son of Tsipor.

19 God doesn’t lie because he’s not a human being,

≈and he’s not a mortal who might change his mind.

Whatever he’s said, he’ll do it.

≈Anything he promised, he’ll make it happen.

20 Listen, I’ve received a command to bless.

≈Yes, he’s decided to bless and I can’t reverse it.

15 And_he/it _said to Bālāq take _your _stand thus with burnt _offering _of_your and_I I _will _meet thus.
16 And_ YHWH _met (to) Bilˊām and_he/it _assigned a _word in/on/at/with_mouth _of_his and_he/it _said return to Bālāq and_thus you _will _speak.
17 And_came to_him/it and_see_he [was]_standing with burnt _offering _of_his and_princes _of Mōʼāⱱ with_him/it and_he/it _said to_him/it Bālāq what YHWH has _he _spoken.
18 And_uttered oracle _of_his and_said arise Oh _Bālāq and_hear listen to_me his/its_son of _Tsipōr/(Zippor).
19 Not [is]_a _human god and_lie and_son _of humankind and_change _mind (the)_that has _he _said and_not will _he _act and_spoken and_not fulfill_it.
20 Here to _bless I _have _received and_blessed and_not revoke_it.
21 Not he _has _looked _at disaster in/on/at/with_Yaˊₐqoⱱ/(Jacob) and_not he _has _seen trouble in/on/at/with_Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) YHWH his/its_god with_him/it and_shout _of a _king in/on/over_him/it.

23 If/because not enchantment in/on/at/with_Yaˊₐqoⱱ and_not divination in/on/at/with_Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) at _the_proper _time it _will _be _said of_Yaˊₐqoⱱ and_of_Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) what has _he _done god.
24 There a _people like_lioness it _rises and_like_lion it _lifts _itself _up not it _will _lie _down until it _will _devour prey and_blood _of [those]_slain it _will _drink.
25 And_ Bālāq _he/it _said to Bilˊām neither at _all _(curse) not curse_them nor at _all _(bless) not bless_them.
26 And_ Bilˊām _answered and_he/it _said to Bālāq not did _I _speak to_you to_say all that he _will _speak YHWH DOM_him/it I _will _do.
27 And_ Bālāq _he/it _said to Bilˊām come please take_you to a _place another perhaps it _will _be _pleasing in/on_both _eyes _of the_ʼElohīm and_curse_them to_me from_there.
28 And_ Bālāq _he/it _took DOM Bilˊām the _top _of the_Fəˊōr the_overlooks over the _face _of the_wasteland.
29 And_ Bilˊām _he/it _said to Bālāq build to_me in/on/at/with_these seven altars and_prepare to_me in/on/at/with_these seven young _bulls and_seven rams.
30 And_ Bālāq _he/it _made just_as Bilˊām he _had _said and_he/it _ascended a _young _bull and_ram in/on/at/with_altar.
