43:1 God’s powerful splendour of God at the temple

43 Then the man took me to the gate that opened to the east. 2 Wow! The splendour of Yisrael’s (Israel) god appeared towards the east. His voice was like the roar of rushing water, and the land shone with his brilliance.[ref] 3 What I saw in this vision was like what I’d seen in my earlier visions, first by the Kevar Canal, then later when he[fn] came to destroy Yerushalem (Jerusalem). I fell to my knees with my face to the ground. 4 So Yahweh’s brightness entered into the temple via the eastern entrance.

5 Then the spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court, and wow, Yahweh’s brilliance was filling the temple. 6 ⇔Then as the man was standing there beside me, I heard someone speak to me from inside the temple, 7 and the voice told me, “Son of humanity, this is the place where I’ll sit on my throne and rest my feet—where I’ll live in the middle of the Israeli people forever. Yisrael’s descendants and their kings will no longer profane my sacred name with their faithlessness or with the corpses of their kings at their hilltop shrines. 8 They’ll no longer profane my sacred name by putting their entrance next to my entrance, and their doorposts next to my doorposts, with nothing but a wall between me and them. They profaned my sacred name with their disgusting actions, so I destroyed them with my anger. 9 Now they’re to remove their prostitution and their kings’ corpses from in front of me, and I’ll live among them forever.

10 “Son of humanity, describe that temple to the Israeli people so they’ll be ashamed of their disobedience and think about those plans. 11 If they’re ashamed of everything they’ve done, then reveal the design of that temple to them—its details, its entrances and exits, its complete design, and all its decrees and rules. Then right in front of them, write that down so they’ll see its complete design and all its rules, and then obey them. 12 This is the regulation for the temple: From the peak of the hill to all the surrounding border around it, it’ll be very sacred. Listen, that’s the regulation for the temple.

43:3 It’s only one letter difference, but the Hebrew has ‘I’ here which seems wrong and is adjusted in some later manuscripts.

43 And_he_led _me to the_gate the_gate which was_facing the _direction _of the _east.

2 And_BEHOLD/LO/SEE the _glory _of the _god _of Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) was_coming from_the _direction _of the _east and_sound _of_its was_like_the_sound _of waters many and_the_earth it _gave _light from_glory _of_his.

3 And_like_the _appearance _of the _vision which I _saw was_like_vision which I _had _seen when_came_I to_destroy DOM the_city and_visions were_like_vision which I _had _seen to the _river _of Kəⱱār and_I _fell to face _of_my.

4 And_the _glory _of YHWH it _came into the_house the_way _of the_gate which his/its_faces/face was_the _direction _of the _east.

5 And_it_lifted _me _up a _spirit and_it_brought _me into the_courtyard (the)_inner and_BEHOLD/LO/SEE the _glory _of YHWH it _filled the_house.

6 And_I _heard one _who_spoke to_me from_the_house and_a _man he _was standing beside_me.

7 And_he/it _said to_me Oh _son _of humankind DOM the _place _of my _throne _of_my and_DOM the _place _of the _soles _of my _feet _of_my where I _will _dwell there in _the_middle the _people _of Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) forever_perpetuity and_not they _will _defile again the _house _of Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) the _name _of my _holiness _of_my they and_kings _of_their by_prostitution _of_their and_by_the _corpses _of their _kings _of_their places _of_their _high.

8 When_put_they threshold _of_their with threshold _of_my and_doorpost _of_their beside doorpost _of_my and_the_wall between_me and_between_them and_they _defiled DOM the _name _of my _holiness _of_my by_abominations _of_their which they _did and_I _made _an _end _of DOM_them in_anger _of_my.

9 Now let _them _put _far _away DOM prostitution _of_their and_the _corpses _of their _kings _of_their from_me and_I _will _dwell among_them forever_perpetuity.

10 You Oh _son _of humankind declare DOM the _house _of Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) DOM the_house so_that _they _may _be _ashamed from_iniquities _of_their and_they _will _measure DOM a _pattern.

11 And_if they _are _ashamed from_all that they _have _done the _design _of the _house and_arrangement _of_its and_exits _of_its and_entrances _of_its and_all designs _of_its[fn] and_DOM all _of regulations _of_its and_all mmm[fn] and_all mmm[fn] make _known _to them and_write to_eyes _of_their so_that _they _may _keep DOM all _of design _of_its and_DOM all _of regulations _of_its and_they _will _do them.

12 This is_the _law _of the _house on the _top _of the _mountain all _of territory _of_its all _around all _around will _be_a _holy _place _of holy _places THERE this is_the _law _of the _house.
