BSB § For this is what the LORD says: “If those who do not deserve to drink the cup must drink it, can you possibly remain unpunished? You will not go unpunished, for you must drink it too.

OEB For thus saith Jehovah: If those who did not deserve to drink the cup must drink it nevertheless, how canst thou expect to go utterly unpunished? Nay, verily, thou shalt no escape, but drink it thou shalt.

FBV This is what the Lord says: If those who were not required to drink from the cup of judgment had to do so, how could you not be punished yourselves? You won't go unpunished, because you have to drink it too.

WYC For the Lord seith these thingis, Lo! thei drynkynge schulen drynke, to whiche was no doom, that thei schulden drynke the cuppe. And `schalt thou be left as innocent? thou schalt not be innocent, but thou drynkynge schalt drynke.

LUT Denn so spricht der HErr: Siehe, diejenigen, so es nicht verschuldet hatten, den Kelch zu trinken, müssen trinken, und du solltest ungestraft bleiben? Du sollst nicht ungestraft bleiben, sondern du mußt auch trinken.

CLV Quia hæc dicit Dominus: Ecce quibus non erat judicium ut biberent calicem, bibentes bibent: et tu, quasi innocens relinqueris? non eris innocens, sed bibens bibes.

BRN And I will grant you mercy, and pity you, and will restore you to your land.
