ULT 2 SAM Chapter 22

22And David spoke to Yahweh the words of this song on the day Yahweh delivered him from the palm of all of his enemies and from the palm of Saul. 2And he said, “Yahweh is my rock and my stronghold and my deliverer, mine. 3God of my rock, I take refuge in him, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge, my savior, you save me from violence.

4To the one being praised I call, to Yahweh, and I am saved from my enemies. 5For the waves of death surrounded me, the torrents of wickedness terrified me. 6The cords of Sheol surrounded me, the snares of death confronted me.

7In my distress I called to Yahweh, and to my God I called. And he heard my voice from his temple, and my cry was in his ears. 8Then the earth shook and trembled. The foundations of the heavens quaked and shook themselves, because it burned to him. 9Smoke went up from his nose, and fire from his mouth devoured. Coals from him burned. 10And he lowered the heavens, and he came down, and a dark cloud was under his feet. 11And he rode on a cherub, and he flew. He was seen on the wings of the wind. 12And he set darkness, the booths around him were a gathering of waters, clouds of the skies. 13From the brightness before him, coals of fire burned. 14Yahweh thundered from the heavens, and the Most High uttered his voice. 15And he sent out arrows, and he scattered them, lightning, and he panicked them. 16And the channels of the sea were seen, the foundations of the world were uncovered, at the rebuke of Yahweh, from the blast of the breath of his nose.

17He stretched out from the height, he took hold of me. He drew me out of many waters. 18He delivered me from my strong enemy, from the ones hating me, for they were stronger than me. 19They confronted me on the day of my calamity, but Yahweh was my support. 20And he brought me out to an open space. He delivered me because he delighted in me.

21Yahweh has rewarded me according to my righteousness. According to the cleanness of my hands, he has given back to me. 22For I have kept the ways of Yahweh, and I have not been wicked from my God. 23For all of his judgments are before me, and his statutes, I have not turned away from them. 24And I have been blameless toward him, and I have kept myself from my iniquity. 25And Yahweh has given back to me according to my righteousness, according to my cleanness before his eyes.

26With the faithful you show yourself faithful; with the mighty blameless, you show yourself blameless. 27With the purified, you show yourself pure, but with the crooked, you show yourself cunning. 28And you save a lowly people, but your eyes are against the ones being high, you bring them down.

29For you are my lamp, Yahweh, and Yahweh lightens my darkness. 30For by you, I run after a troop.

By my God, I leap over a wall. 31This God, his way is perfect. The word of Yahweh is refined. He is a shield to all of the ones taking refuge in him. 32For who is God except Yahweh? And who is a rock except our God? 33This God is my fortress of strength, and he makes my way perfect, 34making my feet like a deer, and he makes me stand on my high places, 35training my hands for war, and my arms bend a bow of bronze. 36And you give to me the shield of your salvation, and your answer makes me great. 37You enlarge my step under me, and my feet do not slip.

38I pursue my enemies, and I destroy them, and I do not return until I have ended them. 39And I devour them, and I shatter them, and they do not arise, but they fall under my feet. 40And you gird me with valor for war; you make the ones rising up under me bow down. 41And my enemies, you give to me the back of their neck; the ones hating me, and I destroy them. 42They look, but there is no one saving; to Yahweh, but he does not answer them. 43And I beat them like the dust of the earth.

Like the mud of the streets, I pulverize them, I stomp them. 44And you rescue me from the disputes of my people. You keep me as the head of nations. People I did not know serve me. 45Sons of the foreigner come cringing to me. At the hearing of an ear, they hear me. 46Sons of the foreigner fade away, and they come trembling from their fortresses.

47Yahweh is alive! And blessed be my rock, and may the God of the rock of my salvation be exalted, 48the God giving vengeance to me and bringing down peoples under me 49and bringing me out from my enemies.

And from the ones arising against me, you lift me up; from a man of violences, you deliver me. 50Therefore I thank you, Yahweh, among the nations, and I sing praise to your name, 51the one magnifying the salvation of his king and doing covenant faithfulness to his anointed, to David, and to his seed until forever.”
