OET (OET-RV) “Whenever you people are abstaining from food, don’t look miserable like the hypocrites, because they intentionally try to look awful so that everyone will notice that they’re fasting. I can assure you that they’ve already received their reward in full.

OET-LV And whenever you _all _may _be _fasting, be_ not _becoming downthrow like the hypocrites, because/for they _are _disfiguring the appearances of _them, so _that they _may _be _seen by _the people fasting.

UST Whenever some people do not eat in order to please God, they change how their faces look. They pretend to be sad, but they just want other people to recognize that they are not eating. God will not reward them any more than that. What I have said is true. So, you should not behave like that.
