11 and _ Nāḩāsh _ he/it _ ascendedthe _ ˊAmmōnī and _ besieged on Yāⱱēsh/(Jabesh) Gilˊād and _ all _ of_ they _ saidthe _ men_ ofYāⱱēsh to Nāḩāsh make to/for _ us a _ covenantand _ serve _ you .
2 And _ he/it _ saidto _ them Nāḩāsh the _ ˊAmmōnī in/on/at/with _ this I _ will_ maketo/for _ you _ allin/on/at/with _ gouge _ outto/for _ you _ allevery _ ofeye _ of[the] _ right_ sideand _ bring _ it a _ reproachon all _ ofYisrāʼēl /(Israel) .
3 And _ they _ saidto _ him/it the _ elders_ ofYāⱱēsh refrain to/for _ us seven _ ofdays and _ send messengers in/on/at/with _ all _ ofthe _ territory_ ofYisrāʼēl /(Israel) and _ if there _ [is]_ not[one _ who]_ deliversDOM _ us and _ surrender to _ you .
4 And _ they _ camethe _ messengers Giⱱˊāh of _ Shāʼūland _ reported the _ terms in/on/at/with _ hearing _ ofthe _ people and _ all _ of_ lifted _ upthe _ people DOM voices _ of_ their and _ wept .
5 And _ see/lo/see Shāʼūl [was] _ comingafter the _ oxen from the _ field and _ Shāʼūl _ he/it _ saidwhat with _ the_ people (cmp) they _ are_ weepingand _ repeated to _ him/it DOM the _ words_ ofthe _ men_ ofYāⱱēsh .
6 And _ the _ spirit_ of_ came god on Shāʼūl in/on/at/with _ heard _ he [fn ] DOM the _ words the _ these anger _ of_ his and _ it _ glowed/burnedexceedingly .
7 And _ he/it _ tooka _ pair_ ofox[en] and _ cut _ inpieces_ them and _ sent in _ all the _ territory_ ofYisrāʼēl /(Israel) in/on/at/with _ hand _ ofthe _ messengers to _ say [one] _ whonot _ he [is] _ coming_ outafter Shāʼūl and _ after Shə mūʼēl thus it _ will_ be_ doneto _ oxen _ of_ his and _ the _ dread_ of_ fell of _ YHWH on the _ people and _ they _ went_ outas _ man one .
8 And _ mustered _ them in/on/at/with _ Bezeq and _ they _ werethe _ people_ ofYisrāʼēl /(Israel) three hundred(s) thousand and _ men _ ofYə hūdāh/(Judah) [was] _ thirtythousand .
9 And _ they _ saidto _ the_ messengers the _ (ones _ who)_ wentthus say to _ men _ ofYāⱱēsh/(Jabesh) tomorrow it _ will_ belongto/for _ you _ alldeliverance in/on/at/with _ hot _ of[fn ] the _ sun and _ they _ camethe _ messengers and _ told to _ men _ ofYāⱱēsh and _ rejoiced .
10 And _ the _ men_ of_ said of _ Yāⱱēshtomorrow will _ we_ go_ outto _ you _ alland _ do to/for _ ourselves as _ whatever _ ofthe _ good in/on/at/with _ eyes _ of_ you _ all11 and _ he/it _ wason _ next _ dayand _ Shāʼūl _ he/it _ assignedDOM the _ people three companies and _ they _ camein/on/at/with _ midst _ ofthe _ camp in/on/at/with _ watch _ ofthe _ morning and _ struck _ downDOM ˊAmmōn until the _ heat_ ofthe _ day and _ he/it _ wasthe _ survived and _ scattered and _ not they _ remainedin/on/at/with _ them two together .
12 And _ he/it _ saidthe _ people to Shə mūʼēl who the _ said Shāʼūl will _ he_ reignover _ us deliver _ upthe _ men and _ put _ todeath_ them .
13 And _ Shāʼūl _ he/it _ saidnot he _ will_ be_ put_ to_ deathanyone in _ the_ day the _ this if/because the _ day he _ has_ doneYHWH deliverance in/on/at/with _ Yisrāʼēl /(Israel) .
14 and _ Shə mūʼēl _ he/it _ saidto the _ people come and _ go the _ Gilgāl and _ renew there the _ royalty .
15 And _ all _ of_ went the _ people the _ Gilgāl and _ made _ kingthere DOM Shāʼūl to _ (the) _ face_ of/in_ front_ of/beforeYHWH in/on/at/with _ Gilgāl and _ sacrificed there sacrifices peace _ offeringsto _ (the) _ face_ of/in_ front_ of/beforeYHWH and _ rejoiced there Shāʼūl and _ all the _ men_ ofYisrāʼēl /(Israel) up _ tomuchness .
