4 And _ they _ camethe _ messengers Giⱱˊāh of _ Shāʼūl/(Saul)and _ they _ spokethe _ words/messages in _ the _ ears_ ofthe _ peopleand _ all _ of_ they _ lifted_ upthe _ people DOM voice _ of_ their and _ they _ wept5 And _ see/lo/see Shāʼūl was _ comingafter the _ cattle from the _ field and _ Shāʼūl _ he/it _ saidwhat is _ to_ people (cmp) they _ are_ weepingand _ they _ recountedto _ him/it DOM the _ words/messages_ ofthe _ men_ ofYāⱱēsh .
6 And _ the _ spirit_ of_ it _ rushedgod on Shāʼūl just _ as _ he _ heard[fn ] DOM the _ words/messages the _ these anger _ of_ his and _ it _ glowed/burntexceedingly .
7 And _ he/it _ tooka _ pair_ ofox[en] and _ he _ cut _ it_ in_ piecesand _ he _ sent_ them in _ all the _ territory_ ofYisrāʼēl /(Israel) by _ the _ hand_ ofthe _ messengersto _ say _ whonot _ he is _ coming_ outafter Shāʼūl and _ after Shə mūʼēl /(Samuel) thus it _ will_ be_ doneto _ his _ of_ ox[en] and _ the _ dread_ of_ it _ fellof _ YHWH on the _ people and _ they _ went_ outlike _ a _ manone .
8 And _ he _ mustered _ themat _ Bezeq and _ they _ werethe _ people_ ofYisrāʼēl /(Israel) three hundred(s) thousand and _ the _ man_ ofYə hūdāh/(Judah) was _ thirtythousand .
9 And _ they _ saidto _ messengers the _ (ones _ who)_ wentthus you(pl) _ will _ sayto _ the _ man_ ofYāⱱēsh/(Jabesh) tomorrow it _ will_ belongto/for _ you(pl) deliverance like _ the _ heat_ of[fn ] of _ the _ sunand _ they _ camethe _ messengers and _ they _ toldto _ the _ men_ ofYāⱱēsh and _ they _ rejoiced10 And _ the _ men_ of_ they _ saidof _ Yāⱱēshtomorrow will _ we_ go_ outto _ you(pl) and _ you(pl) _ will_ doto/for _ ourselves according _ to _ all_ ofthe _ good in _ your _ two’s_ of_ eyes .
11 and _ he/it _ wasfrom _ the _ next _ dayand _ Shāʼūl/(Saul) _ he/it _ assignedDOM the _ people three companies and _ they _ camein _ the _ midst_ ofthe _ campin _ the _ watch_ ofthe _ morningand _ they _ defeatedDOM ˊAmmōn until the _ heat_ ofthe _ day and _ he/it _ wasthose _ who _ remainedand _ they _ were_ scatteredand _ not they _ remainedamong _ them two together .
12 And _ he/it _ saidthe _ people to Shə mūʼēl /(Samuel) who is _ the_ one _ who_ saidShāʼūl will _ he_ reignover _ us deliver _ upthe _ men so _ that _ we _ may_ put_ them_ to_ death13 And _ Shāʼūl _ he/it _ saidnot he _ will_ be_ put_ to_ deathanyone in _ the_ day the _ this if/because the _ day he _ has_ doneYHWH deliverance in _ Yisrāʼēl /(Israel) .
14 and _ Shə mūʼēl _ he/it _ saidto the _ people come and _ let _ us_ go(the) _ Gilgāl and _ let _ us_ renewthere the _ royalty .
15 And _ all _ of_ they _ wentthe _ people (the) _ Gilgāl and _ they _ made_ kingthere DOM Shāʼūl to _ (the) _ face_ of/in_ front_ of/beforeYHWH in _ Gilgāl and _ they _ sacrificedthere sacrifices peace _ offeringsto _ (the) _ face_ of/in_ front_ of/beforeYHWH and _ he _ rejoicedthere Shāʼūl and _ all the _ men_ ofYisrāʼēl /(Israel) up _ tomuchness .
