3 And _ Shāʼūl _ encamped in/on/at/with _ hill _ ofthe _ Ḩₐkīlāh which [was] _ onthe _ face_ ofthe _ jeshimon on the _ road and _ Dāvid [was] _ dwellingin/on/at/with _ wilderness and _ he/it _ sawif/because _ thathe _ had_ comeShāʼūl after _ him the _ wilderness _ into .
4 And _ Dāvid _ sent _ outspies and _ he/it _ knewif/because _ thathe _ had_ comeShāʼūl to a _ certain_ [thing]5 And _ Dāvid _ he/it _ rose_ upand _ came to the _ place where he _ had_ encampedthere Shāʼūl and _ Dāvid _ he/it _ sawDOM the _ place where he _ laythere Shāʼūl and _ ʼAⱱnēr the _ son_ ofNēr the _ commander_ ofarmy _ of_ his and _ Shāʼūl [was] _ lyingin/on/at/with _ camp and _ the _ army [were] _ encampingaround _ of_ him [fn ] .
6 And _ Dāvid _ said and _ he/it _ saidto ʼAḩīmelek the _ Ḩittiy and _ near/to ʼAⱱīshay the _ son_ ofTsə rūyāh /(Zeruiah) the _ brother_ ofYōʼāⱱ/(Joab) to _ say who will _ he_ go_ downwith _ me to Shāʼūl into the _ camp and _ ʼAⱱīshay _ he/it _ saidI I _ will_ go_ downwith _ you .
7 And _ Dāvid _ came and _ ʼAⱱīshay to the _ army night and _ see/lo/see Shāʼūl [was] _ lyingsleeping in/on/at/with _ encampment and _ spear _ of_ his [was] _ thrustin/on _ the_ earth at _ head_ of_ his [fn ] and _ ʼAⱱnēr and _ the _ army [were] _ lyingaround _ of_ him [fn ] .
8 and _ ʼAⱱīshay _ he/it _ saidto Dāvid god he _ has_ delivered_ upthe _ day DOM enemy _ of_ your in/on/at/with _ hand _ of_ your and _ now pin _ him please in/on/at/with _ spear and _ in/on/at/with _ ground a _ timeone and _ not I _ will_ repeatto _ him/it .
9 And _ Dāvid _ he/it _ saidto ʼAⱱīshay do _ notdestroy _ him if/because who has _ he_ stretched_ outhis/its _ hand in/on/at/with _ anointed _ ofYHWH and _ guiltless .
10 and _ Dāvid _ he/it _ said[by] _ the_ lifeof _ YHWH if/because (if) YHWH strike _ him or day _ of_ his it _ will_ comeand _ die or in/on/at/with _ battle he _ will_ go_ downand _ perish .
11 Forbid to/for _ me because _ of_ LORD from _ lift hand _ of_ my in/on/at/with _ anointed _ ofYHWH and _ now take please DOM the _ spear which at _ head_ of_ his [fn ] and _ DOM the _ jug_ ofthe _ waters and _ go to/for _ ourselves .
12 And _ Dāvid _ he/it _ tookDOM the _ spear and _ DOM the _ jug_ ofthe _ waters the _ place_ of_ the_ head_ ofShāʼūl and _ went _ awayto/for _ them and _ no [one _ who]_ sawand _ no [one _ who]_ knewand _ no [one _ who]_ awokeif/because all _ of_ they [were] _ sleepingif/because (the) _ deep_ sleep_ ofYHWH it _ had_ fallenupon _ them .
13 And _ Dāvid _ he/it _ passed_ throughthe _ other _ sideand _ stood on the _ top_ ofthe _ hill at _ distance [was] _ greatthe _ space between _ them .
14 And _ Dāvid _ he/it _ calledto the _ army and _ near/to ʼAⱱnēr the _ son_ ofNēr to _ say am _ not will _ you_ answerOh _ ʼAⱱnērand _ ʼAⱱnēr _ replied and _ he/it _ saidwho [are] _ you[who] _ you_ have_ called_ outto the _ king .
15 and _ Dāvid _ he/it _ saidto ʼAⱱnēr am _ not a _ man[are] _ youand _ who like _ you in/on/at/with _ Yisrāʼēl /(Israel) and _ for _ what not did _ you_ guard(to) master _ of_ your the _ king if/because he _ cameone the _ people to _ destroy DOM the _ king master _ of_ your .

17 And _ Shāʼūl _ recognized DOM the _ voice_ ofDāvid and _ he/it _ saidvoice _ of_ your [is] _ thisson _ of_ my Dāvid and _ Dāvid _ he/it _ saidmy _ sound/voice my _ master the _ king .
18 And _ he/it _ saidto/for _ what this my _ master pursuing after servant _ of_ his if/because what have _ I_ doneand _ what in/on/at/with _ hand _ of_ my evil .
19 And _ now let _ him_ hearplease my _ master the _ king DOM the _ words_ ofservant _ of_ his if YHWH incited _ you in/on/at/with _ me may _ he_ smellan _ offeringand _ if the _ sons_ ofthe _ humankind [be] _ cursedthey to _ (the) _ face_ of/in_ front_ of/beforeYHWH if/because driven _ out_ me the _ day from _ sharing in/on/at/with _ inheritance _ ofYHWH to _ say go serve gods other .

21 And _ Shāʼūl _ he/it _ saidI _ have_ sinnedreturn son _ of_ my Dāvid if/because not I _ will_ do_ harmto/for _ yourself(m) again because that it _ was_ preciouslife _ of_ my in/on/at/with _ sight _ of_ your the _ day the _ this here I _ have_ behaved_ foolishlyand _ made _ a_ mistakegreatly very .
22 And _ Dāvid _ answered and _ he/it _ saidhere the [fn ] the _ king and _ come _ overone of _ the _ young _ menand _ get _ it .
23 And _ YHWH he _ will_ returnto _ the_ every _ manDOM righteousness _ of_ his and _ DOM faithfulness _ of_ his that gave _ you [fn ] YHWH the _ day in/on/at/with _ hand and _ not I _ was_ willingto _ stretch _ outhand _ of_ my in/on/at/with _ anointed _ ofYHWH 24 And _ see/lo/see just _ as it _ was_ greatlife _ of_ your the _ day the _ this in/on/at/with _ sight _ of_ my so may _ it_ be_ greatlife _ of_ my in/on _ both _ eyes_ ofYHWH and _ rescue _ me from _ all trouble .
25 and _ Shāʼūl _ he/it _ saidto Dāvid [be] _ blessedyou son _ of_ my Dāvid both certainly _ (do)you _ will_ doand _ also certainly _ (prevail)you _ will_ prevailand _ Dāvid _ he/it _ wenton _ way _ of_ his and _ Shāʼūl he _ returnedto _ place _ of_ his .
