4 and_ Shāʼūl _summoned DOM the_people and_numbered_them in/on/at/with_Ţəlāʼīm two_hundred thousand foot_soldier[s] and_ten_of thousand(s) with (the)_man_of Yəhūdāh/(Judah).
5 And_ Shāʼūl _came to the_city_of ˊAmālēq and_set_an_ambush in/on/at/with_valley.
6 And_ Shāʼūl _he/it_said to the_Qēynīs go depart go_down from_among_of [the]_ˊAmālēqite[s] lest destroy_you with_him/it and_you(ms) you_did loyalty with all_of the_people_of Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) in/on/at/with_came_up_they out_of_Miʦrayim and_ [the]_Qēynī[s] _withdrew from_among_of ˊAmālēq.
7 And_ Shāʼūl _defeated DOM ˊAmālēq from_Ḩₐvīlāh goes_you Shūr which [is]_on the_face_of Miʦrayim.
8 And_captured DOM Agag the_king_of ˊAmālēq alive and_DOM all_of the_people he_totally_destroyed with_edge_of [the]_sword.
9 And_ Shāʼūl _spared and_the_people on Agag and_to the_best_of the_sheep and_the_cattle and_the_fatlings and_of the_lambs and_to all_of the_good and_not they_were_willing utterly_destroy_them and_all the_things despised and_worthless DOM_her/it they_totally_destroyed.
10 and_ the_word_of _he/it_was of_YHWH to Shəmū^ʼēl to_say.
11 I_regret if/because_that I_have_made_king DOM Shāʼūl as_king if/because he_has_turned_back from_following_me and_DOM instructions_of_my not he_has_carried_out and_it_glowed/burned to_Shəmū^ʼēl and_cried_out to YHWH all_of the_night.
12 And_ Shəmū^ʼēl _rose_early to_ Shāʼūl _meet in/on/at/with_morning and_told to_Shəmū^ʼēl to_say he_came Shāʼūl the_Karmel/(Carmel)_to and_see/lo/see [he_was]_setting_up to_him/it a_monument and_turned and_passed_on and_he/it_descended the_Gilgāl.
13 And_ Shəmū^ʼēl _came to Shāʼūl and_he/it_said to_him/it Shāʼūl [be]_blessed you to/for_YHWH I_have_carried_out DOM the_word_of YHWH.
14 And_ Shəmū^ʼēl _he/it_said and_what [is]_the_sound_of the_sheep the_this in/on/at/with_ears_of_my and_lowing_of the_cattle which I [am]_hearing.
15 And_ Shāʼūl _he/it_said from_ˊAmālēqites brought_them that it_had_compassion the_people on the_best_of the_sheep and_the_cattle so_as to_sacrifice_[them] to/for_YHWH god_of_your and_DOM the_rest we_totally_destroyed.
16 and_ Shəmū^ʼēl _he/it_said to Shāʼūl be_quiet and_tell to_you DOM [that]_which he_said YHWH to_me the_night and_replied[fn] to_him/it speak.
17 and_ Shəmū^ʼēl _he/it_said am_not though [were]_small you in/on/at/with_eyes_of_your_own the_chief_of the_tribes_of Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) [are]_you and_anointed_you YHWH as_king over Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel).
18 And_sent_you YHWH in/on/at/with_mission and_he/it_said go and_utterly_destroy DOM the_sinners DOM ˊAmālēq and_fight in_him/it until consumed_they DOM_them.
19 And_for_what not did_you_listen in/on/at/with_voice_of YHWH and_pounce to the_plunder and_do the_evil in/on_both_eyes_of YHWH.
20 and_ Shāʼūl _he/it_said to Shəmū^ʼēl (cmp) I_listened in/on/at/with_voice_of YHWH and_went in/on/at/with_mission which sent_me YHWH and_brought_back DOM Agag the_king_of ˊAmālēq and_DOM ˊAmālēq I_totally_destroyed.
21 And_he/it_took the_people from_the_plunder sheep and_cattle the_choicest_of the_things_devoted_to_destruction to_sacrifice to/for_YHWH god_of_your in/on/at/with_Gilgāl.
22 And_ Shəmū^ʼēl _he/it_said the_delight to/for_YHWH in/on/at/with_burnt_offerings and_sacrifices as_obeying in/on/at/with_voice_of YHWH here to_obey than_sacrifice [is]_good to_heed than_fat_of rams.
23 If/because [is_the]_sin_of divination rebellion and_iniquity and_idolatry presumption because you_have_rejected DOM the_word_of YHWH and_rejected_you from_king.
24 and_ Shāʼūl _he/it_said to Shəmū^ʼēl I_have_sinned if/because I_have_transgressed DOM the_mouth_of YHWH and_DOM words_of_your if/because I_feared DOM the_people and_obeyed in/on/at/with_voice_of_their.
25 And_now forgive please DOM sin_of_my and_return with_me and_worship to/for_YHWH.
26 And_ Shəmū^ʼēl _he/it_said to Shāʼūl not I_will_return with_you if/because you_have_rejected DOM the_word_of YHWH and_rejected_you YHWH from_being king over Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel).
27 and_ Shəmū^ʼēl _turned to_go and_caught_hold in/on/at/with_hem_of robe_of_his and_tore.
28 And_he/it_said to_him/it Shəmū^ʼēl he_has_torn YHWH DOM the_kingship_of Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) from_with_you the_day and_given_it to_neighbor_of_your the_better than_you.
29 And_also the_eminence_of Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) not he_will_deal_falsely and_not he_will_regret if/because not [is]_a_man he to_change_mind.
30 And_he/it_said I_have_sinned now honour_me please before the_elders_of people_of_my and_before Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel) and_return with_me and_worship to/for_YHWH god_of_your.
31 And_ Shəmū^ʼēl _went_back after Shāʼūl and_ Shāʼūl _worshiped to/for_YHWH.
32 and_ Shəmū^ʼēl _he/it_said bring_near to_me DOM Agag the_king_of ˊAmālēq and_he/it_went to_him/it Agag bonds and_ Agag _he/it_said truly it_has_departed the_bitterness_of the_death.
33 and_ Shəmū^ʼēl _he/it_said just_as it_has_made_childless women sword_of_your so she_will_become_childless among_women mother_of_your and_ Shəmū^ʼēl _hacked_topieces DOM Agag to_(the)_face_of/in_front_of/before YHWH in/on/at/with_Gilgāl.
34 and_ Shəmū^ʼēl _he/it_went the_Rāmāh_to and_Shāʼūl he_went_up to house_of_his Giⱱˊāh of_Shāʼūl.
35 And_not Shəmū^ʼēl he_repeated to_see DOM Shāʼūl until the_day_of death_of_his if/because Shəmū^ʼēl he_mourned concerning Shāʼūl and_LORD he_regretted if/because_that he_had_made_king DOM Shāʼūl over Yisrā^ʼēl/(Israel).
