30 and _ he/it _ was when _ came Dāvid and _ his _ of_ men Tsiqlag/(Ziklag) in _ the_ day the _ third and _ the _ ˊAmālēqite[s] they _ had_ made_ a_ raid against the _ Negeⱱ and _ near/to Tsiqlag and _ they _ had_ attacked DOM Tsiqlag and _ they _ had_ burnt DOM _ her/it with _ fire .
2 And _ they _ had_ taken_ captive DOM the _ women who were _ in_ it from _ small and _ unto great not they _ had_ killed anyone and _ they _ had_ driven_ them_ away and _ they _ had_ gone to _ their _ of_ way .
3 And _ Dāvid _ he _ came and _ his _ of_ men to the _ city and _ see/lo/see it _ was _ burnt with _ fire and _ their _ of_ wives and _ their _ of_ sons and _ their _ of_ daughters they _ had_ been_ taken_ captive .
4 And _ he _ lifted_ up Dāvid and _ the _ people which with _ him/it DOM voice _ of_ their and _ they _ wept until that there _ was _ not (is) _ in_ them strength to _ weep .
5 And _ the _ two_ of the _ wives_ of Dāvid ʼAḩīnoˊam they _ had_ been_ taken_ captive the _ Jezreelite_ and _ ʼAⱱīgayil the _ wife_ of Nāⱱāl the _ Karmə lī/(Carmelite) .
6 And _ it _ was_ distress to _ Dāvid exceedingly if/because they _ said the _ people to _ stone _ him if/because the _ soul_ of it _ was_ bitter of _ all_ of the _ people everyone on sons _ of_ his [fn ] and _ on daughters _ of_ his and _ Dāvid _ he _ strengthened_ himself in _ YHWH his/its _ god .
7 and _ Dāvid _ he/it _ said to ʼEⱱyātār the _ priest/officer the _ son_ of ʼAḩīmelek bring _ near please to _ me the _ ephod and _ ʼEⱱyātār _ he _ brought_ near DOM the _ ephod to Dāvid .
8 And _ Dāvid _ he _ enquired by _ YHWH to _ say will _ I_ pursue after the _ marauding_ band the _ this will _ I _ overtake _ it and _ he/it _ said to _ him/it pursue if/because certainly _ (overtake) you _ will_ overtake_ and _ certainly _ (rescue) you _ will_ rescue_ them .
9 And _ Dāvid _ he/it _ went he [fn ] and _ six hundred(s) man who with _ him/it and _ they _ came to the _ wadi_ of (the) _ Bə sōr and _ those _ who _ were_ left_ behind they _ remained .
10 And _ Dāvid _ he _ pursued he and _ four hundred(s) man and _ they _ stood two _ hundred man who they _ were_ too _ exhausted for _ passing _ over DOM the _ wadi_ of (the) _ Bə sōr .
11 And _ they _ found a _ man from _ Miʦrayim/(Miʦrayim/(Egypt)) in _ the_ field and _ they _ took DOM _ him/it to Dāvid and _ they _ gave to _ him/it bread and _ he _ ate and _ they _ gave _ him_ to_ drink water .
12 And _ they _ gave to _ him/it a _ slice_ of fig _ cake and _ two _ of bunches _ of_ raisins and _ he _ ate his/its _ breath/wind/spirit and _ it _ returned to _ him/it if/because not he _ had_ eaten food and _ not he _ had_ drunk water three days and _ three nights .
13 and _ he/it _ said to _ him/it Dāvid belong _ to_ whom you and _ where from _ this are _ you and _ am _ a_ young_ man _ he/it _ said from _ Miʦrayim/(Miʦrayim) I a _ slave of _ a _ man ˊAmālēqite and _ he _ abandoned _ me my _ master if/because I _ was_ sick the _ day (the) _ three .
14 We we _ had_ made_ a_ raid the _ Negeⱱ_ of the _ Kerethite[s] and _ on that _ which belongs _ to_ Yə hūdāh/(Judah) and _ on the _ Negeⱱ_ of Kālēⱱ/(Caleb) and _ DOM Tsiqlag/(Ziklag) we _ had_ burnt with _ fire .
15 And _ he/it _ said to _ him/it Dāvid will _ you _ take _ me_ down to the _ marauding_ band the _ this and _ he/it _ said swear to/for _ me by _ god if you _ will _ kill_ me and _ if you _ will _ deliver_ me_ up in _ the _ hand_ of my _ master and _ I _ will _ take_ you_ down to the _ marauding_ band (the) _ this .
16 And _ he _ took _ him_ down and _ see/lo/see they _ were _ spread_ out over the _ surface_ of all _ of the _ earth/land eating and _ drinking and _ celebrating in _ all _ of the _ plunder (the) _ great which they _ had_ taken from _ the _ land_ of the _ Fə lishtiy and _ from _ the _ land_ of Yə hūdāh .
17 And _ he _ struck _ them_ down Dāvid from _ the _ twilight and _ unto the _ evening of _ their _ next_ of_ day and _ not he _ escaped from _ them anyone if/because (if) four hundred(s) man young _ man who they _ rode on the _ camels and _ they _ fled .
18 And _ Dāvid _ he _ rescued DOM all _ of that ˊAmālēq they _ had_ taken and _ DOM the _ two_ of wives _ of_ his Dāvid he _ rescued .
19 And _ not it _ was_ missing to/for _ them from the _ small(sg) and _ unto the _ great and _ unto sons and _ daughters and _ from _ the _ booty and _ unto all _ of that they _ had_ taken to/for _ them (the) _ everything Dāvid he _ brought_ back .
20 And _ Dāvid _ he/it _ took DOM all _ of the _ sheep and _ the _ cattle they _ drove_ them to _ (the) _ face_ of/in_ front_ of/before the _ livestock (the) _ that and _ they _ said this is _ the_ booty_ of Dāvid .
21 And _ Dāvid _ he _ came to two _ hundred the _ men who they _ had_ been_ too _ exhausted for _ going after Dāvid and _ they _ had _ left_ them_ behind at _ the _ wadi_ of (the) _ Bə sōr and _ they _ went_ out to _ meet Dāvid and _ to _ meet the _ people which with _ him/it and _ Dāvid _ he _ approached DOM the _ people and _ he _ asked to/for _ them to _ welfare .
22 and _ every _ of _ he _ answered man evil and _ worthlessness of _ the _ men who they _ had_ gone with Dāvid and _ they _ said because that not they _ went with _ me not we _ will_ give to/for _ them any _ of _ the _ booty which we _ have_ recovered if/because (if) everyone DOM his/its _ wife/woman and _ DOM children _ of_ his and _ they _ will_ lead_ them _ away and _ they _ will_ go .
23 and _ Dāvid _ he/it _ said not you(pl) _ must_ do thus my _ brothers_ of_ Oh DOM that _ which he _ has_ given YHWH to/for _ us and _ he _ has_ kept us and _ he/it _ gave DOM the _ marauding_ band which _ came on _ us in _ our _ of_ hand .
24 And _ who will _ he_ listen to/for _ you(pl) to _ the _ message/thing/matter the _ this if/because like _ the _ share of _ the _ one _ who_ went_ down in _ battle and _ like _ the _ share_ of the _ one _ who_ remained with the _ vessels alike they _ will_ share .
25 and _ he/it _ was from _ the _ day (the) _ that and _ onwards and _ he _ made _ it into _ a _ regulation and _ into _ a _ judgement for _ Yisrāʼēl /(Israel) until the _ day (the) _ this .
26 and _ Dāvid _ he _ came to Tsiqlag/(Ziklag) and _ he _ sent some _ of _ the _ booty to _ the _ elders_ of Yə hūdāh/(Judah) to _ his _ of_ friend to _ say here to/for _ you(pl) a _ blessing from _ the _ booty_ of the _ enemies_ of YHWH .
27 For _ those _ who in _ house _ of ʼēl and _ for _ those _ who were _ in the _ Negeⱱ and _ for _ those _ who were _ in_ Yattir/(Jattir) .
28 And _ for _ those _ who were _ in_ ˊArōˊēr and _ for _ those _ who were _ in_ Sifmōt and _ for _ those _ who were _ in_ ʼEshtə moˊa .
29 and _ for _ those _ who were _ in_ Rākāl and _ for _ those _ who were _ in_ the _ cities_ of the _ Jerahmeelite[s] and _ for _ those _ who were _ in_ the _ cities_ of the _ Qēynī[s] .
30 And _ for _ those _ who were _ in_ Ḩārə māh and _ for _ those _ who were _ in ashan and _ for _ those _ who were _ in_ ˊAtāk .
31 And _ for _ those _ who were _ in_ Ḩeⱱrōn and _ to/for _ all the _ places where he _ had_ gone_ about there Dāvid he and _ his _ of_ men .
