The priests descendants of Saduk

Eze 44:15–31

15Then the Levitical priests, those descendants of Tsadok who fulfilled the duties of my sanctuary when the Israeli people were wandering away from me, they’ll approach me to worship me. They’ll stand in front of me to offer me the fat and the blood. That’s the master Yahweh’s declaration. 16They’ll come to my sanctuary and approach my table to worship me and to fulfill their duties to me. 17When they come to the gates of the inner courtyard, they’ll have to dress in linen clothing, because they mustn’t wear wool inside the courtyard gates or in the temple.[ref] 18They must wear linen turbans on their heads and linen underclothes around their waists. They mustn’t dress in clothing that makes them sweat. 19When they go back out to the outer courtyard to go back again to the people, they must take off the clothes they wore when they served—they must take them off and lay them down in a sacred room, so they don’t make other people sacred by contact with their special clothing.[ref]

20The priests mustn’t shave their heads or allow their hair to hang loosely, but they must keep the hair on their heads neatly trimmed. 21No priest should drink wine before he comes to the inner court.[ref] 22Also, priests can’t marry widows of men who weren’t priests, or women who’ve been divorced—they’re permitted to marry only Israeli women who’ve never been married, or widows of other priests.

23They must teach the people the difference between things that are sacred and things that are not, and teach them how to know what things are acceptable to me and what things are not.[ref] 24In a dispute they must judge in accordance with my instructions and regulations. They must keep my law and my statutes at every religious celebration, and they must observe my sacred rest days.

25Priests mustn’t defile themselves by going near a person’s dead body. However, if the dead person was his father or mother, son or daughter, or brother or unmarried sister, then they can defile themselves, 26and after they’ve been purified, they must wait for seven days. 27Then after that, when he goes into the inner courtyard to serve in the sacred place, he must bring a sin offering for himself. That’s the master Yahweh’s declaration.

28The priests must not own any land—I am their inheritance and I’ll be their property.[ref] 29They’ll have the food offerings, the sin offerings, and the guilt offerings to eat, plus everything in Yisrael that’s devoted to Yahweh will be theirs.[ref] 30The best of the firstfruits from every harvest and every contribution from the people will belong to the priests, and you Israelis will give the first of your bread dough[fn] to the priests so that blessing may rest on your home. 31Priests must not eat the meat of any bird or animal that’s found dead or that’s been killed by any other animal.[ref]

Exo 28:39-43:

39The tunic must be woven from finely-spun linen, and similarly for the turban. An embroiderer must make the waistband.

40You must also make tunics, waistbands and headbands for Aharon’s sons so they’ll look splendid and beautiful. 41Put these clothes on your brother Aharon and his sons, then anoint them with oil and ordain and consecrate them as priests to me. 42Make underwear out of linen to cover their bare flesh from the waist to the thighs43they must wear it whenever they enter the sacred tent and whenever they approach the altar to offer sacrifices so they won’t be disobeying and die. Aharon and his descendants must obey that rule forever.

20Yahweh also told Aharon, “You priests won’t inherit any land or property—I am your share and your inheritance among the Israelis.

Num 18:8-19:

8Then Yahweh told Aharon, “Also listen, I’ve put you in charge of looking after the sacred offerings to me. I’ve given them to you and your sons as your permanent income. 9Every offering apart from the burnt offerings, will belong to you. That includes their grain offerings, their sin offerings, and their guilt offerings. Once they’re given, they become sacred, and they’re for you and your sons. 10You and the males in your families may eat that sacred offering but do remember that it’s sacred.

11In addition, the people’s raised offerings belong to you, and they are permanently given to your entire families to eat—everyone who’s ‘clean’ may eat them.

12“All the best of the fresh oil, and the new wine and grain that they give to Yahweh, I give to you. 13The first portions of all their harvests that they bring to Yahweh, belong to you—everyone in your families who’s ‘clean’ may eat them.

14Everything throughout Yisrael that’s dedicated to Yahweh will belong to you.[ref]

15Every firstborn male baby, as well as animals, will belong to Yahweh, however you must buy back the human babies as well as the firstborns from the ‘unclean’ livestock. 16The babies must be bought back when they’re one month old, paying five silver coins of the proper weight according to the scales at the sacred tent. 17However, the firstborn cows or sheep or goats can’t be bought back. They are sacred—you must sprinkle their blood on the altar and burn their fat as an offering that’s a soothing aroma for Yahweh. 18Their meat will belong to you, just like the breast or the right thigh of the wave offerings are yours. 19All sacred donations by the Israelis, I’ve permanently given to you and your children to eat—it’s an irrevocable agreement with Yahweh for you and your future ancestors.”
