Prosunt ergo mala quæ fideles pie perferunt, vel ad emendanda sive demenda peccata, vel ad exercendam probandamque justitiam, vel ad demonstrandam hujus vitæ miseriam. Quamvis enim mors carnis de peccato primi hominis originaliter venerit, tamen bonus ejus usus gloriosissimos martyres fecit.
