This is still a very early look into the unfinished text of the Open English Translation of the Bible. Please double-check the text in advance before using in public.
132 A song by David while walking uphill to Yerushalem.
132 Yahweh, for David’s sake, remember all the hardships he endured.
2 Remember how he made a promise to you, Yahweh—
how he made a vow to Yakov’s mighty warrior:
≈or lie down in my bed.
4 I won’t let my eyes close
≈or let myself doze away
5 until I’ve found a place for Yahweh—
a residence for the powerful one that Yakov worshipped.
6 Listen, we heard that the sacred box was in Efratah.
We found it in Yaar’s fields.[ref]
7 We’ll go into the place where he lives.
We’ll bow low in front of him where he sits.
8 Yahweh, come to the place where you can remain—
you and the sacred chest that represents your power.
9 May your priests wrap themselves in integrity.
May your faithful followers shout happily.
10 For your servant David’s sake,
don’t just ignore the one that you’ve chosen.
11 Yahweh, you promised David and you won’t break that promise.
You said, “I’ll put your descendants on your throne.[ref]
12 If your sons keep my agreement and the instructions that I’ll teach them,
then their children also will sit on your throne forevermore,”
13 Yes, Yahweh has chosen Tsiyyon (Zion)—
that’s where he wants to reside.
14 He said, “This is my resting place forever.
I’ll live here, because I like this place.
15 I’ll bless Tsiyyon with generous provisions.
Her poor people will have enough food to be satisfied.
16 I’ll have her priests lead the people to be saved.
The faithful people will shout aloud in their happiness.
17 I’ll cause on of David’s descendants to become a great king there,[ref]
and shine the light on the one I’ve chosen.
18 I’ll cause his enemies to be shamed,
and it’s his crown that will shine.

2Sam 7:12-16:
12 when your time on earth comes to an end and you’re laid down with your ancestors, I will appoint one of your sons to be king and I will establish his kingdom.[ref] 13 He’s the one who’ll build a temple for me, and I will make his descendents reign forever. 14 I myself will become like a father to him, and he’ll become like a son to me. When he disobeys, I’ll punish him like fathers punish their sons.[ref] 15 But my kindness won’t turn away from you like I turned away from Sha’ul—the one who I removed ahead of you. 16 Your descendants and your kingdom will remain forever. Your throne will be established forever.’ ”[ref]
1Ch 17:11-14:
Psa 89:3-4:
3 “I have made an agreement with my chosen one,
≈I’ve made a promise to my servant David.
4 I will establish your descendants forever,
≈and I will establish your throne through all generations.”[ref] (Instrumental break.)
Acts 2:30:
30 [ref]So because he was a prophet, and knowing that God has promised him to seat one of his descendants on his throne,
1Ki 11:36:
36 I’ll give Shelomoh’s son one tribe to rule so that one of David’s descendants will always rule in my chosen city Yerushalem because it’s associated with my name.
